One of the few but immensely cool people that e-mail us sent us this "imformative" sucker from Popstar! Magazine. A guide to being the ideal 'N Sync girlfriend. ::snickers:: In other words, a load of crap used to take up an extra page in the magazine. We couldn't NOT comment on it. We just couldn't. All our snide remarks will be in italics.
1. Don't Freak!
You only have one chance to make a first impression. Being as famous as these guys are, they have to have a watchful eye on who's saying they like them because of fame or who just like them for who they are. (Only one chance. Hmmm...You know, I've always thought the "I'm a complete basketcase" impression was the way to go when first meeting a guy. Thanks, Popstar! for proving me wrong!)
The most flirtatious member of *NSYNC, Joey Fatone, has said, "You can tell who's using you for an autograph and who's really interested. I like the girls who mysteriously look over, smile, and say 'Hi!'" (Okay, if you're using 'N Sync STRICTLY for an autograph, you need to go back and take sex ed again, or something.)
Justin Timberlake feels the same way about this: "It feels strange to have all these girls crying over you. All you can say is, 'Are you okay?'" (That's all you can think of to say? "Are you okay?" Next time try, "Are you on drugs?")
2. Make The First Move!
"My longest girlfriend was the one who asked me out," JC admitted. JC Chasez is very attracted to take-charge girls. Believe it or not, the number of girls who have ever asked him out face-to-face is a very, very low number. (That's probably because you are a fashion victim, although one would think that any self-respectable woman would be able to fix that already.)
"I've probably been asked out twice in my life," sighs the lonely Leo responsible for three hit songs on the new CD, including the sexy "Digital Getdown." "Ask me!" he pleads, "Please! Ask me!" Just keep in mind there's a big difference between a take-charge girl and one who's too pushy. (::coughs:: Bobbi! ::coughs::)
3. Respect Their Career!
Having a girlfriend and touring are two things that just don't go too well together. "It's hard to date someone when you're moving around so much," Joey has said. "I've even met girls I've wanted to start something with, but I won't be back in their town for a long time..." (And there's also that minor detail of having a significant other back in Florida.)
Lance Bass, who had to end a months-long relationship with actress girlfriend Danielle Fishel of "Boy Meets World" because of the tough schedule, agrees. (I thought he broke up with her because she was a liar. ::shrugs::) "You can try to have a relationship, but it ends up like mine did. You're always on the road and you can't be the boyfriend you want to be." (Unless, of course, you're Justin and Britney. In which case, you've been having a torrid love affair since you were 12.)
So, girls, if one of the *NSYNC guys doesn't call...you just have to wait. Between photo shoots, album recordings, tours, and interviews, these guys don't get much time to do anything! You don't see them much, but they deeply care. Oh, yeah--don't get jealous when a million or so fans touch your man. That's the way it goes. (ROTFLOAO - Bahahahahaha! What a load of crap. I mean, they seem to have time for their present girlfriends. And could this whole thing be written any cheesier? Shit, they're bringing down the curve for the whole country!)
4. Don't Demand Fancy Dates!
All of the guys unanimously agree when it comes to a first date to get candles, a sweet dinner, stroll along the beach, and in Joey's case hit an amusement park! But after a while, all they want to do is chill a bit. (Stroll along the beach? I guess this first date is taking place in either Florida, or during the summer months.)
As Chris Kirkpatrick, the one who started it all and oldest member if the group at 29, explains, "Sometimes it's the quieter moments that are sweet." (If you want quiet, Chris, don't date a fan. Oh, wait! That's right. You're already dating someone, so what does it matter what you think? Hehe.)
5. Know Yourself!
Knowing who you are and what you want out of life is another big key in the game of winning *NSYNC's hearts. "Some people want girls to worship them. But I'm not interested if you're that interested in me!" JC has said. "I need somebody who has her own ambitions, her own goals - that's attractive!" (STILL wondering what the Hell you're doing with someone who writes for one of those florscent magazines with the floating heads on them. How, in the name of God, is that attractive? Has your mom the editor neglected to tell you she's not a real writer? Sheesh!)
Justin has seconded that. "You should know what you want, what you gotta do," the fan-voted "heartthrob" and youngest member believes. "I think people should take time to really figure out who they are. When I did, I was ready to give my heart out to a girl." (Oh, really? You had yourself all figured out at 12? You truly ARE wonder boy, huh?)
6. Don't Use Them Because They're Famous!
This is just one of my own that I'm sure the guys will totally agree on! (You're sure they will? You mean you don't have a quote to back that claim up? Can we say, POOR JOURNALISTIC SKILLS? ::gags::)
*Note: This came from a Popstar! Magazine, so you can go pick up the DEC. 00 issue for $4.99 in the U.S., $5.99 in Canada. (Can we say WASTE OF MONEY?)
