(here's an unfinished, unsent letter I wrote you back on April 30th! HA HA!) - hope you can read it, lemme know!
Dear ANDY BARNUM,
Hi and hello to you, Partsyman...
I've been wanting to write you for awhile, since we already had our initiation fees paid with your tittillating telephone call to me and our pieces of fax papers. And you so graciously giving me your number, I still can't find the sixpence nor nerve to give you a buzz.

So let me just do it here, the old fashioned way. Write a letter instead. Much to say, how and when I want it. So let's have at it.

Must thank you again for your kind comments on my songs. It's been 30 years of writing and recording. The backaches are bad now. And the frustration with eternal obscurity makes me eyes cloud up with angry fucking tears.

Hey, did I tell you that I was one of the first East Coast American Boys to purchase and play ^White Music^ on the radio? Yes! And 3DEP too. 1978: I had just moved to New Jersey from Nashville, and I became the New Wave Guy wherever I went. Got close with new pals at WFMU and was allowed to spin my fave new discs. Everybody else was still wallowing in their Canterbury dullness and folky message muzak. Radios in Motion made me explode together alone. Years later, WFMU became quite the important USA outlet for XTC exposure... supporters like Frank O'Toole, Jim Price, Irwin Chusid (you remember them all, yes?). Even our beloved Mitch Friedman became aware of much audio glee via our legendary radio station.
