Bastian
The hero of this novel/movie, is a boy named Bastian Balthazar Bux, who when running away from bullies, enters a book store,
and steals a magical book called "The NeverEnding Story".
Set in the far off land of Fantasia. Bastian reads through the book, learning of "Atreyu" a mighty warrior of the plains, sent by request of the "Childlike Empress", to seek out the source of "The Nothing" (The world of Fantasia is fading away because of the lack of human interest in fantasy). While Bastian accompany's Atreyu in his quest with his horse "Artax" in mind, as he reads on, the The NeverEnding Story, has found it's hero... Bastian (being human) must reinvent Fantasia, by giving the Childlike Empress a new name. But as Bastian struggles to believe in himself, the world of Fantasia is disappearing forever.
