Why The Grammies Sucked!
First of all, what happened to actually giving out awards? There are over 80 awards and only 10 are televised. What's up with that? And who were half of the people performing? And the Blue Man Group is fucking weird. The whole show just gets boring after a while. Then they give out awards to artists that most of us have never heard of. Like Steely Dan. Honestly, how many of you knew who he was before Grammy night? I hadn't, and how come someone like him didn't perform if he was nominated and won so much? I think they just have people perform because it'll bring in the audience but they don't think their talented enough to win. What's up with that? Nsync's performance sucked. It looked for a while that Justin and JC were the only ones in the fuckin group. And that song is just so boring. I really like Destiny's Child but those outfits were ugly, their usually classier then that. But damn can they sing. But how come the old members didn't go up when they won? Cuz they get the grammies too, not the new girl. Does that make sense? I was really looking forward to see what would happen when all of them how to get up there together and it didn't happen. Oh, and Toni Braxton was trying too hard to be the Jennifer Lopez of this year, but she looked slutty. Christina Aguilera too, her dress was ugly, and her performance was alright, but I've seen better.
Now onto Eminem and Elton John. First I would like to say I am not a fan of Eminem. I just find his songs annoying. But I think that whole performance was blown way out of porportion. Why couldn't it just be about two successful artists wanting to perform together? I think too many people take what Eminem says in his songs way too personally. He knows exactly what to say and do to push people's buttons so he does because he knows it'll see records. So if everyone would just get over it and leave him alone, he'd eventually go away, or not be as popular at least. I also thought it was very respectful of Elton John as well, cuz he's not usually the backup guy ya know? It was Eminem's show, with Elton John helping him out. And the song "Stan" has a powerful message. Eminem also censored himself for the show too which was very mature on his part I feel. I thought it was a great performance and everyone just needs to chill out and get over it.
