A Weird Review Of Show Me The Meaning

Since the video for SMTM came out, we decided that there was no need to make fun of it basically cuz there is nothing funny about it at all. Well, this person sent me an email on her thoughts on the video and she doesn't take it seriously at all. I really didn't find it funny at all. I wanted to share it with you guys so if you feel like emailing this person I will put her address as well. But know that WE DID NOT WRITE IT. But this is the type of thing that shouldn't be said about a video like this one.

I waited to see the new BSB video for what seemed like a millennium (HeeHee =) ). The verdict: I love it even though it had nothing to do with the song. Our Backstreet Boyfriends are great actors (along the lines of Freddie Prinze Jr., and the great Macauly Culkin himself!), and in the video they are lookin’ as fine as my older brother (if only we weren’t related. *sigh*)

We begin on a shot of Bri-Bri staring into a hospital room. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see who it was: A lost love? A pet? Justin Timberlake? (HeeHee! J/K peeples!) Then we see it: It’s Brian himself!!! My reaction? Shock. Denial. Bursting into tears than running up to my room. Luckily, I taped it.

Later on, while rewinding back to this part (and brushing my long, blonde hair), I reflected on what my big, blue eyes had just seen. I decided not to make any conclusions until watching more. I pressed play to see a shot of A.J. shedding a tear…I’ll come back to that later. Next, we see Kev-O-La watching some sort of film. Suddenly, it all made sense. Kevin is watching videos of himself, when he’s older (and HOTTER!) Brian’s looking back on his past (or his surgery, to be exact!) Congrats to the Backstreet Boys on another unique idea for a music video: Time machines. By the way, they did a great job at making Kevy-Kev look older.

Now, back to A.J. Here’s what we see: A.J. weeps as he sees his love walk away (played by a very ugly girl). By now I think it’s obvious to y’all what happened and why our baby is crying. Here it is: A.J.’s wishing he could have predicted this with the time machine, but the other BSBs wouldn’t lend it to him use it, hence the crying. A.J. and the rest of the band apparently had a fight! Over what, we could only guess. Tres sad!!!

Now on to Nicky Licky. I don’t know why everyone is saying how confusing his part is. ITS SO OBVIOUS =) The girl in this section represents the teen pop trend. In the beginnning, years ago, it was all the rage (NKOTB.) This is shown when the girl is walking peacefully. But then, pop faded as grunge and rap took over the music scene. This is shown when the girl is almost hit by the bus (a sight upon which I nearly cut the long, thin legs which I was shaving.) Y’all followin’ me? But wait! Nick saves the girl, exactly in the way the BSB revived teen pop!!! Brilliant!!! Another nice touch is the way the BSB decided to show how other types of music are still present in our lives. Look closely at the bus driver: ITS KID ROCK! INGENIOUS!!!

Now, on to every-ones favorite Latin-lover: Howie D-Lightful. Howie is shown in a bar type thing, drinking what I HOPE is Yoo-Hoo. I’m not sure why he’s at a bar. Maybe he’s supposed to be on the show Cheers? Oh well. He sees a girl who fades away (Great special effects! Comparible to my favorite movie Speed). Now, at first this confused me. But now I understand it perfectly. Howie was using the time machine. He was in his past, watching a girl he loved, who is now gone. But, since he was drinking, he forgot how to control the machine, so it goes hay-wire and the girl fades away. Shame on you Howie! Serves you right! Soon we see a candle blowing out. I don’t think this was supposed to be shown in the video. I think that this was supposed to be just a shot of a candle, glowing its light, fueling the machine. Clearly, someone accidentally sneezed it out during filming, and the wrong shot was put into the video. Oh well, no one’s perfect!

In the end, they walk together into the light. All’s well that ends well! I think this was their best video yet. The way they tied this one to the previous video (LTL, where they’re in the future) is incredible. Also, great job Fatima on the dancing!!! I don’t know why everyone is reading so much into this video (saying things about Howie’s dead sister, Kevin’s Dad, etc.) when the answer is right there in front of them: TIME MACHINES!!! This is the most amazing and touching music video I’ve ever seen (and that’s including Hanson’s MMMbop!!!) I haven’t cried this much since my pet lizard (Lizzie) died when I was three. Way to play with my emotions guys! We can only hope for more!!!

Tell me that isn't just the craziest thing you ever heard? I mean some of it is ok but most of it is so insane!
