Chapter 4

She laughed heartily at this. Nick was a wondrous man, she thought. She couldn't keep him out of her thought ever. She had this melting feeling in the pit of her stomach whenever she was around him. She remembered that kiss they had shared, only for a little while, yet it had been like a taste of sweet heaven.
"Hello, earth to Lin!" Nick waved a big hand in front of her sun-kissed face.
"What?" she asked in a confused tone, the dreamy look still in her eyes.
"You were gone from me for a while there. Is there anything bothering you?"
"Nay, actually I have never been as content in my life as I have been these past few weeks. I love being with you, Nick. I feel like I'm melting from the inside out whenever I'm with you. You make me feel things I've never felt before."
Nick ____ed in a breath. This was it. He had finally won over his little daisy, and he know realized how much he loved her.
"I think I am in love with you," he said huskily.
Her gaze searched his face, as if to make sure that he was not playing with her. There was only love shining in Nick's eyes, and her expression changed to one of such naked joy that Nick couldn't hold himself back anymore. He kissed her, and this was a far more passionate embrace than he had ever shared with a girl.
The kiss made her every feeling soar. Her arms twined around his neck, and his arm clasped her waist tightly. She kissed him back with all her heart, and when they pulled back a moment, she said "I love you more than my life, Nick. Only you, never anyone else." And with that, he kissed her again, and all thoughts of the world around them faded into nothingness.
Nick sat nervously on the balcony outside the room they shared that night. He was tired of seeing her sleep in front of that fire every night. He was tired of having to be so formal with her in public. He loved her, and he thought it was about time that he asked her to marry him. Since she had no male relatives older than herself living, the decision would be her's alone. He wondered what she would say. Well, he thought. I'll never know until I ask her.
She came up after a short time had lapsed and was surprised not to find Nick laying in his bed. She shrugged, and went to change into her nightrail, but stopped when she heard Nick's voice from out on the balcony.
"Daisy, please come here. I have something to ask you."
Curious, Aislinn went out onto the balcony and sat down beside Nick on the stone bench.
"Aye, my own love? What is it?" she asked softly, wondering what was on her mind.
