Chapter 2
BJ was thankful that Nick was sitting behind her, so he couldn't see the pained look on her face. "Nick it was a year and a half long tour. A lotta things happen in that long a time period and breaking up with Jaime was the most insignificant one. I don't want to talk about it at all, OK? You can't bring her back, nothing can! Nothing or no one ever will. She's gone and it's all my fault!" she shouted before bursting into tears. Nick felt a stab of fear.
"Who's gone, BJ? Mom? Angel? Leslie? Ginger?" BJ shook her head vehemently as tears started to stream down her pretty face.
"Then damnit who!" he shouted at her. BJ recoiled and got off of his lap and went to sit on Kevin's at the other end of the back seat. She looked at her brother with fear in her eyes, then anger.
"Nick, you wouldn't care! She loved you once and you only brushed her off! And she was hurt, Nick! And now you can't apologize! She was only eighteen, damnit and she's dead! She'll never love or be loved and it's all my fault! Storm is dead and nothing we can do will ever, EVER change that!" she sobbed as she leaned her head against the window and cried. Nick froze.
"Storm MacGannon, as in your best friend? oh my god Beej I'm so sorry! My god she must have been the healthiest girl I knew! Man I'm so sorry! Why do ya say it's your fault?" Nick asked her gently.
"She died right after I left the Slaters' house before I was supposed to and she covered for me. When the Slaters came home, they found her unconcious on the floor. She died in the hospital three days afterward. If I'd only stayed with her, I could've helped her!!" she sobbed. The guys all exchanged horror-stricken glances as Brian turned to BJ.
"It wasn't your fault, hon. Things like that happen. How'd she die, anyway? I don't think I ever met her, which makes me feel bad." he told her as she turned to him with a sad smile.
"Storm MacGannon was my best friend since we were in grade school. You've never met her. You would've liked her, Bri. She was everything a great gal should be, funny, nice, outgoing, loyal and a great listener. I miss her so much."
"How did she die?" he asked softly, so only she could hear.
"She had a massive heart attck that left her so weak that her immune system couldn't handle it. She was only eighteen and had her whole life ahead of her. Her main goal in life next to becoming a pro soccer player and a lawyer was to meet you guys since i talked about youi guys non stop. She always thought you were the cutest one after Nick, but he never cared for her in that way. Me and her were like sisters, and we even looked like eachother. People called us the twins, and had the hardest time figuring out who was who." she replied quietly before looking back out the window.
"Heart attack! Man and she was only eighteen? She was so young!" Brian exclaimed, looking out the window at the sky. he wondered if storm was an angel in heaven and was watching over them at that very moment.
"No kidding." Nick said as tears filled his eyes. She was like my sister, except she was there for me sometimes while BJ was out modeling, so I could talk to her about my problems. I miss her more than anything."
They all lapsed into their own silent thoughts as they prayed that the young girl's soul had been safely delivered to God in heaven.
