Chapter 1

Nick walked through the desert, the dry wind tousling his bleached blond locks. He was in Egypt along with the guys, who plodded along slowly in behind him. They were walking right through the legendary Valley of the Kings where all the rulers of Ancient Egypt were buried or had been at one time.

As he walked by, Nick saw an opening in the sand. Intrigued, he moved in for a closer look. It was a hole in the sand, and steps led down to a door. On the door was what he knew was a cartouche, and inside it hieroglyphics representing someone's name. He called the guide over and the guide read the name. The guide took a step back in shock.
"Well?" Nick asked curiously. "Who's tomb is it?"
The guide look directly at him. "This is the tomb of a princess of whom I have never heard. Her name was Beketamun, and who's daughter she was I know not, for the seal is partly damaged, but we should know if we go inside. Would you like to enter?" he asked Nick politely.

Nick's eyes narrowed against the glare of the sun. "Can ya do it?" he asked seriously. The guide nodded.

"With the help of you and your friends, absolutely." he replied. The other guys came over and Nick explained the amazing discovery to them. They immediately brightened, and went to work helping the guide to open the door with picks they found discarded half a mile away that they were using as walking sticks.

When the door was finally opened, the guide was the first to walk in with a torch, and the rest of the guys followed in behind him with flashlights. They heard an audible gasp from up ahead and hurried to see what had upset the guide. they walked into the chamber, and they too halted and gaped. There was gold everywhere, furniture, ornaments, you name it and it was there in gold.

"Her tomb was never looted." the guide remarked softly. He found a pile of papyrus scrolls on a gilded golden table and began to read. He gasped again in shock, and his followers came over to hear an explanation.

"This is the tomb of the princess Beketamun, daughter of Tutankhamen and his queen Ankhesnamen. All her children were supposed to have died in stillbirths. Apparently this one did not. Gentlemen, this was the grandaughter of the great Nefertiti, supposedly the most beautiful woman in the world in that time. And if she looked anything like her grandma, she would have been a gorgeous creature. Would you all like to see if her mummy is still here?" he asked, looking at each of these American men.

"Of course, let's go!" Brian exclaimed, speaking for the first time since they'd left Cairo. So they all explored around the girl's tomb until they came to an open chamber and they all gasped when they saw the golden sarcophogus in the corner. What the guide noticed about the sarcophogus that was unusual was that the golden figure was holding the tassle and arch that were the emblems of the high royal office of ancient Egypt. This girl had been a queen. Amazing.
