Chapter 3
Brian:

“Wassup Disney!?!” Nick yelled and the crowd screamed.

“Hope y’all enjoy the show.” I said.

“Let’s get started!” AJ screamed.

‘I Want It That Way’ was the first song we were doing. I started the first verse, and then Nick did his part. We finished the song, and then did ‘As Long As You Love Me’ for the second song. Everyone screamed and cheered when it came on. I couldn’t help but think of those girls who sang this song about 3 hours ago, and I laughed a little. I looked out into the crowd to see if any of them were out there, and then I spotted Billie, then the other four. I sang my part and walked over to Nick and AJ, signaling them to look in the direction I was pointing my head. They looked and smiled; I looked back and saw them singing along to the song. Too bad we can’t talk to them, or get to see them again after this. Man, that totally sucks. If only they knew that they talked to us, but Donna would have a fit. We finished ALAYLM and started ‘The One’. Then we did ‘Larger Than Life’ and then finished with ‘All I have to give.’

“Thank you Orlando and Disney. Have a great night and good bye.” AJ yelled into the mic.

“Thanks, hope you had as much fun as we did. See ya!” Nick said.

“Yep, thanks. It was fun. See ya later.” Kevin screamed.

“Bye Disney. Thanks again. It was great, bye again!” Howie told the crowd.

“Well bye everyone. It was fun. Thanks.” I said, walking off stage. I walked into the small dressing room with the guys.

“OMG! They were there!” Nick exclaimed.

“Who?” Howie asked clueless.

“Billie, Claire, Ali, Faye, and Danica. They were out in the crowd.” I told him.

“Oh, that’s cool. Man, you meet someone once and you just fall for them right then and there.” Kevin laughed.

“Hey you’d like them too if you met them, believe me!” AJ replied.

“Yeah whatever. Let’s get outta here.” Kevin said.

“Alright.” I responded.

We got into our separate cars and left for our own houses. Nick was staying with me for a few days to do the show and other things we had to do.

“Man, I don’t wanna go to that thing Thursday and Friday. Can’t they just pick a group for us without us there?” Nick complained.

“I don’t know. Wait man I can’t go anyway. I’m going to visit my parents Thursday with Kevin, and won’t get back ‘til late Friday. So you’re gonna have to go without me.”

“Oh, that still doesn’t make me want to go. Maybe I can get out of it somehow. Whoa, you and Kevin aren’t gonna be here, that means that only 3 of us will be left, and we don’t make group decisions unless we’re all together.” Nick inquired.

“Yeah, so what’s your point?”

“I’m gonna call AJ and Howie and tell them we’re not gonna go to that thing Thursday or Friday because the whole group isn’t gonna be there, and then I’m gonna call Donna and tell her the same.”

“Ok man, do whatcha want. It doesn’t matter to me. I’m gonna go get something to drink, you want anything?”

“Um, no. I’m gonna call AJ and Howie now.” Nick replied, picking up the phone and dialing AJ’s number first.

I went into the kitchen of my house. It’s actually too big for one person; I really need to get a girlfriend or a smaller house. It’s too lonely here when I’m by myself. I looked inside my fridge for something to drink and got a coke out, opened it, and began drinking it. I just stood there, leaning against the counter, thinking of nothing really. Just stuff. Nick came running in all happy, breaking my thoughts.

“Welp, it’s set. We don’t have to go to that Jive thing; they’ll pick for us. Donna said that they actually found the perfect group, and that they might pick them. I said that was cool, and whoever it was I’m sure they’ll do fine.” He informed me.

“That’s good to know. At least you don’t have to worry about going. What didn’t you wanna go anyway?”

“Just because it would be hard to just chose one group/singer to be our opening act, and I had other stuff planned for the rest of the week.”

“Really, and what plans would those be?” I said, curious to what he had planned.

“Nothing really important.”

“Nick, common. Don’t tell me you’re gonna look for those girls? You gotta let them go, and besides where are you gonna look?”

“Brian, who ever said that I was gonna look for them? Nobody said that.” Nick smiled.

“Believe me, I know you better than you think. And that stupid smile on your face just proves that I’m right.”

“Man, you know me too well. Sorry, but I just can’t get Danica outta my head.”

“You fall too hard sometimes. You only talked to her once and that wasn’t even a real conversation. Orlando is just too big to find them. And what if they aren’t even from Florida, I mean we did meet them at Disney, the biggest tourist attraction in FL, they could be from anywhere.”

“Gee Brian, just bring down all my hopes why don’t you. You gotta at least admit that you liked one of them, common.”

“Yeah, maybe I did, but I don’t have a crush of her like somebody I know, and I certainly don’t think about her 24/7.”

“What can I say? I’m just like that. Which one did you like?”

“Don’t start with me now. I’m not gonna tell you because I have enough sense to forget about her.”

“Common Brian, just tell me this once and I’ll shut up about it from now on. I promise.”

“Fine, I thought that Billie was pretty. Happy now?”

“Yep, very, thank you.”

“Good, now you’ll leave me along about it?”

“Yeah, since you don’t care anyway.”

“Thank god! Let’s talk about something else.”

“Fine, how ‘bout them Bucs?”

“Nick, dude football season is over, it has been since January. It’s now April. Did you forget?”

“No, just trying to make conversation.”

“Ok, hey they got Keeshawn Johnson playing for them now. He played pretty damn good for the Jets. Hopefully he’ll do something to help the Bucs make it to the Super Bowl next year.”

“Yeah, maybe.”

“Don’t worry he will.” Damn now I can’t stop thinking about Billie. “Man, Nick I appreciate you so much! Now I can’t stop thinking about Billie. Thanks a lot!” I scolded him.

“You’re welcome. See they had that affect on us.” Nick smiled.

“Yeah, yeah, but we can’t go looking for them.”

“Why not?” He pouted.

“Because for one we’re the Backstreet Boys, and for another they’ll probably think we’re crazy for following them around.”

“Yeah, but we could dress up as tourist again.”

“Nick man, did you hear what I just said, they’ll think we’re crazy and probably call the police for harassing them.”

“But we’re not going to harass them, just talk to them again.”

“I give up on you totally. You won’t listen to me what so ever.”

“Well, I’m not gonna give up. I still have hope that we’ll see them again soon.”

“Believe what you want. I’m gonna pack and then go play a game of b-ball. You wanna play?”

“Yeah sure, why not? I’ll go get changed.”

Nick ran up stairs to one of the spare rooms that I let be his, and I walked to my room to pack some and get changed for our little basketball game. I finished what I was gonna do and changed into some Adidas sweat pants and a gray tank top. I went outside and met Nick out there; he was shooting some hoops already, waiting for me to come out.

“Nick, you ready to loose?!” I exclaimed taking the ball away from him.

“Yeah, but it’s you who is gonna loose, not me little man!”

“Whatever, believe what you want. Don’t call me little man or I’ll kick your ass!”

“Ok, fine. Let’s get started!”

I dribbled the ball down the court, past Nick and shot the ball towards the basket, making it.

“He shoots he scores! 1-0!” I yelled.

“Haha! Lucky shot!”

“Awe man, don’t feel bad. You’ll make a basket sooner or later, which I predict will be later.”

“Make that sooner!” He shot the ball into the basket, scoring.

“1-1 Brian, now who’s talking?!”

“Shut up man. You’ll be crying, don’t worry.”

“Yeah, whatever. Just shoot the damn ball!”

He kept blocking my way.

“Yo, move your ass outta my way, before I kick it!”

“Damn, pissed a little. Oh well, I’m not moving, sorry!”

I fooled him instead of going right like I always do; I went left and scored. Shocking the hell out of him.

“Damnit! You weren’t supposed to go that!”

“Awe, poor Nick, can’t stand that I fooled you, can you?”

“You just wait, you’ll be sorry!”

“OK, whatever you say.”

We played for about an hour and a half. I won 15-10. Poor Nick, he can never seem to beat me, but he has a backup plan he uses against me. Whenever I play Nintendo with me, I always lose. So, we’re even. We went back inside at 7:30. I sat down on a stool in the kitchen at the island in the middle of it, just cooling off. Nick sat on the counter across from the island cooling off too.

“That was a pretty good game.”

“Yeah, for you, coz you won!”

“Poor Nick, you only lost by 5 points and besides you always beat me at playing Nintendo. So Cheer up!”

“Hey, I gotta idea. Let’s play Mario Cart to make it ever. Please?!” He begged, I gave in and agreed to play a few games with him, even though we both knew that I would lose. He ran to the living room and got his game ready. I got two bottles of water out from the refrigerator and followed Nick into the living room, handing him one of the bottles.

“Thanx. Ready to play?”

“Yeah, I’m ready.” I replied.

We started playing and of course Nick got ahead of me. I always have a hard time getting the hang of these controllers. Nick won the first level, then the second and so on. He was getting happier now that he was beating me at something he was good at. I personally think he needs to get out more, but that’s just my opinion. We played for what seemed like forever. At 8:45 the phone rang.

“I’ll pause it do that you can answer the phone.” Nick said, I got up and ran to the phone, picking up the receiver.

“Hello?” I asked.

“Brian, its Donna. Jive called me about an hour ago and said that they don’t want to wait any longer to pick the group for your opening act.”

“Yeah, so what are they gonna do?”

“They’ve decided to pick this one group of girls. I looked at their taped interview and performance and boy are they talented! What do you say?”

“Sounds good to me. Have you talked to the other guys?”

“Yeah, they said it’s fine also. What about Nick?”

“Hold on, let me tell him.” I told Nick the whole thing and he agreed to it. “Ok, he’s fine with it also.”

“Great, I’ll call Jive and tell them. Oh, and you’ll meet them tomorrow morning for breakfast. I’ll call you to tell you the time.”

“Ok, that’s fine.” I said, hanging up the phone.

Ali:

We got back to the hotel from Disney around 8:30. We saw the Backstreet Boys put on a little performance that was free. It was pretty good. We all decided to go back to my room just to talk. Around 9:00pm the phone of my hotel room rang.

“Hello?” I asked into the phone.

“Hello, is this Ali Baker?” The voice on the other line asked.

“Yes, this is she. May I ask who is calling?”

“Yes, this is Mr. Edwin from Jive Records, and I’m just calling to tell you that Club 3 is now the newest members of Jive. Congratulations!”

“What?! You’re kidding me right? I mean the auditions aren’t done ‘til after tomorrow!” I screamed, getting all the girls attention now.

“No, Miss Baker. I’m not joking. It’s true, we at Jive were so impressed with your auditions and talent that we just couldn’t wait any longer.”

“OMG!! But what about all the other people that auditioned. They’re going to be mad that they were cut short.”

“We’ll still keep them going on and not tell anyone our decision ‘til Saturday like planned. But I just wanted to tell you in advance.”

“That’s so very nice of you. You made all our dreams come true.”

“There is just one slight problem.”

“That is?”

“Well, we were actually looking for a group of five. Do you by any chance have two friends who can sing and dance as well? If you don’t it’s ok.”

“Yes, actually I do. They’re here with us right now.”

“Can I have their names?”

“Yeah, they are Faye Richards and Claire Roberts.” When I said their names, they looked at my funny, and I just smiled at them.

“Ok, thank you. We’ll interview them tomorrow. Oh, there’s one more thing.”

“Yeah?”

“Can you girls have breakfast tomorrow with some people at Jive? Say around 8:30?”

“Yes, of course we can. We’ll be there promptly at 8:30am. Thank you so much for you’re phone call Mr. Edwin.”

“You’re very welcome, and thank you for your talent.”

“You’re welcome. We’ll see you in the morning them?”

“Yes, you ladies have a good night.”

“Don’t worry we will. Good-bye.”

“Good-bye Miss Baker.”

I hung the phone up and just had a huge smile spread across my face. Billie, Danica, Faye, and Claire were all about to jump me when I didn’t say anything.

“Ali! Common, you gotta tell us! Who was that?” Danica asked.

“And why did they want Faye and my names for?” Claire said impatiently.

“Oh, that was Robert Edwin at Jive Records.”

“Yeah, what did he want?” Billie screamed.

“Just to tell us we’re out of the auditions.” I half lied.

“What?! Why the hell are you out of the auditions?” Faye yelled at me.

“Because girls WE MADE IT!!! WE’RE IN!!!” I screamed.

“We’re in? We’re in what?” Billie asked.

“Duh, earth to Billie. We are signed with Jive Records! We made it!” I repeated.

“OMG!! OMG!! Our dreams came true!” Danica exclaimed.

“But I thought you have more interviews tomorrow afternoon?” Claire asked, confused.

“We did, but they thought we were really talented and that we’re really good, that they didn’t want to wait ‘til Saturday to tell us. But the auditions still go on for the other groups, so that they don’t get mad or anything like that.” I explained in one breath.

“Wow, OMG, wow! This is all over whelming!” Billie said faintly.

“There’s a slight catch.”

“What’s the catch?”

“They wanted a group of 5, not 3.”

“Oh, so if they wanted that, why’d they pick you?” Faye asked.

“That’s where you and Claire come in. Do you want to be singers and performers with us?”

“Yes of course we would. That’d be great!” Claire exclaimed, Faye nodded her head yes also.

“Great. Oh, and we have breakfast tomorrow with them at 8:30.”

“That’s so cool. I’m gonna go call my mom and sister to tell them the news!” Danica told us and left for her room.

Billie, Faye, and Claire did the same thing. I decided to call my dad and tell him about it. He’s always supported my dreams. I dialed his number and it rang about 3 times before he answered.

“Hello, Mr. Andrew Baker speaking.” Dad answered.

“Hi daddy, its Ali.”

“Alexia? Wow, I haven’t heard from you in about 2 weeks. How’s my little princess doing?”

“Fine daddy. I’m on Orlando right now.”

“What? Why are you in Florida for?”

“Because Billie, Danica, Faye, Claire and I flew down here to do some auditions for Jive Records.”

“Wow, I can tell that’s what you really want to do.”

“It is daddy, oh and guess what?”

“What princess?”

“We made it! Club 3 is now a part of Jive. They just called 15 minutes ago and the auditions aren’t over yet. They thought we were really good.” I rambled.

“That’s great. Alexia, I’m so proud of you. I knew you’d be able to achieve all your dreams, and I want you to know that I support you all the way!”

“Thank you dad. I know that you do. I gotta go now. I’ll call you soon with more details.”

“Ok honey, I’ll talk to you soon. Bye and I love you.”

“I love you too. Bye.” We hung up and I just smiled to myself.

I still couldn’t believe what had just happened. It all hadn’t sunk in yet, but I know that it will soon. I was snapped out of my thoughts when I heard screaming in the hallway. I ran outside to the hall and saw Danica and Billie screaming a jumping up and down. When they saw me, they ran towards me and grabbed me into a big bear hug. Faye and Claire came out to inspect what was going on a few minutes after I did and we got them into the hug too. It was just a huge hug, and we screamed again.

“Suush! We don’t want everyone to know about it just yet!” Claire scolded.

“Yes ma’am! Sorry!” I saluted and she smacked my arm.

“Now what do we do?” Danica asked.

“Enjoy our last night of real freedom, coz I can assure you that we won’t have that much free time once everything gets started.” I answered.

“That means no sleep in time anymore. I’m sorry Faye.” Billie teased.

“Damn, and I don’t even get to sleep in tomorrow. Damn, damn, damn!!” Faye laughed.

“Hey, I got an idea. Let’s all get our cartilage’s pierced.” Danica inquired.

“That’s a good idea. The mall doesn’t close ‘til 10. We still have time to go. We can go to Claire’s to get them pierced.” Claire said.

“Ok, let’s go then.” Billie agreed.

We all got our purses and headed out to the Neon. Danica decided to drive this time. We got to the mall at 9:25, we ran inside and towards Claire’s. There was only one person in there. We walked up to the clerk.

“May I help you?” She asked.

“Yes, we’d all like our cartilage’s pierced.” I said.

“Ok, you’re all over 18 right?”

“Yep, we are.”

“Alright, pick the earring you want and tell me when you’re ready.”

We looked at the box of earrings and I picked mine, then Danica picked hers, then Billie, then Faye, then Claire.

“Ok, we’re ready.” Faye told her.

“Who wants to go 1st?”

“I will.” Billie said.

She filled out the form and showed the girl which one she wanted. Billie sat in the chair and got her left ear pierced. Then Faye went next, getting her right pierced. Dana went after her, getting her left. Claire after Dana, her left also. I was last and got both of mine pierced. We paid for them and by the time we were done, the mall was about to close. So, we decided to go back to the hotel. We went to Danica’s room for a change and talked for two hours about mostly what we were gonna do, or at least thought we’d be doing. I can’t wait ‘til tomorrow morning gets here. It’s so exciting now that it’s truly happening. It’s surreal. Around 12:38am I decided to go to my room to try and get some sleep, at least.

“Welp, I’m gonna go and try and go to sleep. I’ll see you in the morning. Remember wake up before 8:30.” I told them.

“Don’t worry, we’ll be up!” Faye exclaimed.

“Yeah, ok. Good night and sweet dreams!” I walked out of the room and down the hall to my room. I walked in, closed the door behind me locking it. I changed into my pajamas, got into bed, turned the light off, but didn’t go to sleep. I just laid there looking up at the pitch-black ceiling, thinking of how my hopes and dreams came true all in less than a week. I slowly drifted off to sleep around one, dreaming about our chance.

My dreams were suddenly pulled to a stop when the alarm went off. I slowly opened my eyes and felt around for the snooze button and finally found it. I laid there for about a minute, then the phone rang.

‘Oh hell!” I cursed.

“Hello?” I asked.

“This is your wake up call.” A recording said.

I smiled and place the phone back, sat up, adjusted my tank top and put my feet on the floor. I sat there for about a minute waking up. I rubbed my head, stood up and walked into the bathroom. I looked in the mirror, and I can say that I looked like shit. I quickly got into the warmth of the shower. 15 minutes later I got out and dressed into my blue jean capri pants and white baby-tee that had a yellow sun flower on the front of it. I put my hair half up and put some make up on. I got my white boat shoes on and was ready for breakfast with Jive at 8:00. I went down stairs and waited in the lobby for everyone else. They better have gotten up on time. I don’t want to be late for our first meeting. Around 8:10 Faye and Billie came down. Faye was dressed in black pants and a baby blue baby-tee. She let all her hair down. Billie had a black skirt and pink tank top on. Her hair was up in a ponytail.

“Hi Faye, Billie. How are you this morning?” I asked them.

“Great and you?” Billie asked back.

“Great also. Couldn’t be better. Anyone seen Danica or Claire?”

“No, but I’m sure that they’re getting ready.” Faye said.

5 minutes later Claire and Danica were ready. We were all ready by 8:25.

“Where’s the breakfast going to be?” Danica asked.

“I think in the hotel restaurant. That’s what Mr. Edwin told me. He reserved it just for us so no one disturbs us.” I answered.

We walked down the long hallway towards the restaurant.

“Man, I’m getting so nervous. Look, I’m shaking.” Billie pointed out.

“It’s ok Bill. We’ll do fine. They’re just gonna talk to us, that’s all.” Faye encouraged.

“I know, but I’m still nervous.”

“You’re allowed to be. If it makes you feel any better, I’m nervous too.” Danica said.

“Yay, we’re all nervous. We set a world record for nervousness!” I laughed. They laughed along with me.

We finally got to the door. It had a sign that said ‘Welcome Club 3’. I smiled at that. Billie and I opened the doors and walked in. We didn’t see anyone, then another sign told us to talk further down. We did, and saw a bunch of people.

AJ:

Robert Edwin and Donna got up and walked towards a group of girls that were walking our way.

“Welcome ladies, won’t you sit down?” I heard Robert ask them.

They sat down at a table across from us. I didn’t pay that much attention to who they were.

“I’m guessing you’re Robert Edwin?” one of them asked.

“You guessed right. Do you mind introducing yourselves to everyone?”

“No, not at all. Hi, I’m Ali Baker.” I looked up when I heard her say that. I’ve heard that name before; I looked at the 5 girls in front of me, and spotted her.

“Hello, I’m Danica Henson.”

“Hey! I’m Faye Richards.”

“Hi, I’m Billie Perry.”

“Hello, and I’m Claire Roberts.”

I looked towards Nick and Brian, who didn’t seem to notice them.

“Yo, Brian, Nick did you look in front of you?” I whispered in their ears.

“Huh?” Nick asked, looking up and saw them. He hit Brian and showed him what he saw. He saw them too and went wide-eyed.

“Well, girls we have something important to tell you.” Robert said.

“Yes?” Faye asked.

“See, we did the audition to find an opening act for one of our groups that go on tour in 3 weeks.”

“Oh, ok.” Billie replied.

“So, you’ll be the one’s opening for them.”

“Ok, that’s so cool!” Ali exclaimed.

“Who’s the group we’ll be opening for?” Claire asked.

“They’re sitting right there. The Backstreet Boys.” Robert said.

“OMG! Wow, that’s beyond cool!” Danica screamed.

“Well, the point of this breakfast is for you to get to know each other. So, Robert and I will be leaving you for the day. So, mingle and get to know each other. Oh, and Faye and Claire, we’ll be interviewing you tomorrow.” Donna informed them.

Yes, this is out chance to get to know them! Now, I’m happy!

“Ok, thank you Robert and Donna. Thank you!” Billie thanked them, almost to tears. She seemed really sweet.

“You’re welcome dears. We’ll see you all tomorrow.” Robert said, as he and Donna walked out.

“Bye” The 10 of us yelled back. There was a weird silence; neither party knew what to say. Then Kevin finally broke the silence.

“So, where are you girls from?” He asked, thank god for him or we’d still be silent.

“We’re from New York, we flew down for the auditions.” Danica answered.

“That’s cool. What’s the name of your group?” Howie asked.

“Club 3, but we might have to change it.” Ali replied.

“Really, whys that?” Kevin said, interested.

“Because at first it was just Danica, Ali and I. But Faye and Claire are part of our group now.” Billie responded.

“Oh, well you don’t have to change your name. Nobody’ll care if you’re Club 3 or Club 5. I think Club 3 should stay your name.” Howie encouraged.

“Thank you. You’re helpful.” Faye replied.

“I try.” He said. I could sense and instant attraction between Faye and Howie.

“Um, this may seem weird, but I’ve noticed that you 3 haven’t talked much since we got here. Is something wrong?” Claire asked, speaking of Nick, Brian, and I.

“No, that’s not weird. Well for them. These 3 normally are the talkative ones. What’s wrong guys?” Kevin asked us.

“Huh? Oh, nothing. Just thinking.” Nick lied.

“AJ dude, what’s wrong with you? You’re never like that.” Howie asked me.

“Nothing man, just thinking like Nick.” I lied too.

“Fine, you guys do a lot of thinking.” Danica said.

“Yep, we do.” Brian responded.

“Normally no, man what the hell is wrong with you guys?” Kevin scolded, trying to get us to answer.

I had to confess, coz I could tell the girls, plus Kevin and Howie were getting pissed.

“Ok, I’ll tell you. This is probably going to sound really dumb, but anyway. Do you remember that you sang at the karaoke café in Disney yesterday?” I asked them.

“Yeah, how’d you know that?” Ali asked, confused.

“Well Nick, Brian, and I were there. We saw you.”

“Really, that’s cool. So, why were you being so quiet?” Danica asked.

“Because we talked to you. We were in our disguises though.” Nick continued.

“Ok, still not getting the whole picture.” Faye said.

“We’re Rob, Darren, and Dexter.” Brian finally said.

“What?! You 3 were Rob, Darren, and Dexter? You looked so funny.” Billie laughed.

“Glad you’re happy about it. We’re quite embarrassed.” I replied.

“Awe, don’t be. You looked cute in those outfits.” Claire smiled.

“Well, that’s cleared up. Is anyone hungry?” Howie asked.

We all said yes and went to the buffet. We got what food we wanted and saw down together at one big table. We talked and got to know each other some. We finished eating and just sat there.

“Girls, would you do us a favor?” Brian asked.

“Yeah, sure. What?” Faye asked in return.

“Could you sing a song for us?”

“Sure, we’d love to!”

They huddled together to pick a song, and picked on. Claire got her CD’s and found a little sound system that was in the restaurant. She got Kevin to play the song when they got ready. They moved some tables and chairs around so they’d have room to move and dance around.

“Play it!” Ali screamed and Kevin did as he was told and the music started.

‘I’m callin’ out, somebody out there hear My S.O.S?
Throw me a lifeline please… an’ save me
There’s no doubt; baby you took me prisoner
I confess
When you crossed my defenses and captured
My heart.’ -Ali sang.

‘An’ now it’s too late to put up a fight
I thought I was strong but as hard as I
Try…can’t break away.’ -Faye sang.

‘Darlin’ there’s no way out
Nothing can help me now
Love’s got a hold on my heart.’ -They sang.

‘There’s no escape, now I’m like a damsel in distress
Trapped in this fairy tale forever
An’ no mistake, it’s tragic but I’ll have to
Face the truth I guess
Live evermore resigned to my fate.’ -Billie sang.
‘ ‘Coz now it’s too late to put up a fight
I thought I was strong, but try as I
Might…can’t break away.’ - Danica sang.

‘Darlin’ there’s no way out
Nothing can help me now
Love’s got a hold on my heart
Love’s got a hold on my heart.’ -They sang.

‘Hold on my heart, hold on my heart
(Love got a hold on my heart, it’s got a hold on my heart [they sang])
An’ now it’s too late to put up a fight
I thought I was strong but try as I might…can’t
Breakaway.’ -Claire sang.

‘Darlin’ there’s no way out
Nothing can help me now
Love’s got a hold on my heart. (2x) -They sang, and ended the song.

We clapped and cheered for them. They were pretty damn good. Better than yesterday.

“Wow, they were right when they said you got talent!” I exclaimed.

“Thank you. Glad you liked it. That’s the first time we did that all together.” Ali said.

“Wait, Ali. We performed yesterday, remember?” Faye asked her.

“Oh yeah, duh! Sorry didn’t mean to forget about that.” She apologized.

“It’s alright. You’ve had a lot on your mind. Don’t worry about it.” Billie said.

“So, what do you want to do today?” Nick asked.

“Hmm…I don’t know. We have all day to do stuff.” Danica replied.

“How ‘bout we get to know each other better?” Kevin asked.

“That’s a good idea. Ok, where should we start?” Claire replied with a question.

“Let’s start with full names?” I offered.

“Good idea. I’ll go first. Ok, don’t laugh. My full name is Alexia Emma Baker.” Ali said.

“That’s a beautiful name, why would we laugh?” I responded.

“Thank you. So, what’s your full name?”

“It’s Alexander James McLean.”

“Ok, cool. My full name is Billie Josephine Perry.” Billie told us.

”That’s pretty. Mine is Brian Thomas Littrell.”

“Mine is Claire Rachel Roberts.”

“My full name is Kevin Scott Richardson.”

“Cool, cool. Mine is Danica Michelle Henson.”

“Mine is Nicolas Gene Carter.”

“Mine’s Faye Danielle Richards.”

“And mine is Howard Dwaine Dorough.”

“Alright we got the full name thing going for us. How ‘bout nicknames?” Brian asked.

“I guess I’ll go first. I have a lot- Ali, Alex, Emmy, Em, Lexi, Lexia, and Princess, but my dad is only allowed to call me that.”

“I’ll go 2nd again. AJ, Bone Daddy, Bone, Boner.”

“I’ll go next. Billie Jo, BJ, Billie, Jo, JB, and Bill.”

“I’ll go 4th then. Bri, B-Rok, and Frick. Ok, so I don’t have that many.”

“Mine are Cici, Rach, and Carrie.”

“Mine are Kev, and Train.”

“Wow, so interesting. I’ll go. Dana, Michi, Missy, and Dan.”

“Mine are Nick, Nicky, although no one better call me that, Kaos, and Frack.”

“I get to go. Yay! Dani, Dan.”

“And now me. Howie, Howie D., Sweet D, Latin Lover, and D.”

“Ok, we got the full names and nicknames down pat. Birthdays?” Ali asked.

“I’ll go. January 9th, 1978.”

“Mine is April 8th, 1978.” Ali said.

“My b-day is January 27th, 1979.” Billie replied

“February 20th, 1975 is mine.” Brian told us.

“Mine is July 19th, 1978.” Claire said.

“October 3rd, 1971 is my b-day.” Kevin said.

“Mine is September 18th, 1980.” Danica responded.

“My b-day is January 20th, 1980.” Nick replied.

“Mines is March 22nd, 1978.” Faye said.

“And mine is August 22nd, 1973.” Howie told us.

“Awe, poor Nick and Dana, they’re the babies and only ones born in 1980. The rest of us were born in the 70’s!” Billie teased.

“No one’s birthday is coming up ‘til July. Good, time to shop around. January is out busiest month for birthdays.” Kevin pointed out.

“Yep, now what?” Faye asked.

“I don’t know.” Ali replied bluntly.

“How ‘bout were split off into pairs. Like, Nick and Dana, Billie and Brian, Kevin and Claire, Faye and Howie, and Ali and I?” I asked.

“That’s fine. Let’s go split up.” Danica said, grabbing Nick’s hand, walking outside. The others went their separate ways, while Ali and I stayed behind and talked about stuff.
