Chapter 1

A gray hush was sweeping over the October sky. The breeze snuck thru the damp grass as the birds lay down to rest in their nests. Brian Littrell was sitting in his backyard on a lawn chair, sparkle in his eyes. He watched a red and purple haze form in the sky where the sun used to be. The screen porch door squeezed shut behind him. "Beautiful sunset isn't it baby?" He turned around to see his girlfriend, Amanda, standing on the porch behind him, two glasses of tea in her hands. Amanda was 19, immature for her age, as was Brian, long blonde hair fell around her, framing her heart shaped face and large blue eyes. She was wearing a white tank top with a rainbow on it and red shorts. She stepped over to where Brian was sitting and eased into his lap. They both took a sip of tea from their glass and set it on the round table beside them. Brian curled his arms around Amanda's waist.

"Never as beautiful as you." He said, kissing the back of her neck. Amanda smiled, and turned her head to look back at Brian.

"You're the reason I believe in love," she said looking into his blue eyes.

"And you're the answer to my prayers from up above" he replied, a dreamy gaze settling across his face. Amanda sighed contently and settled back into Brian's grasp. She leaned her head against his shoulder and closed her eyes. And that is where they remained the rest of the night.
