Chapter 1

Nick Carter sat alone on the curb in East Point, Prince Edward Island. He looked out over the rolling waves of the Atlantic and thought how he was nothing but a constant doormat for whatever pretty girl that came along. In truth, he was depressed about his breakup with the girl he had dated for a year, Mandah Williford who had supposedly loved him. Damn him if he hadn't been dazzled by her long blond hair and bright blue eyes.
He got up and walked down the hill toward the beach where he then walked along the beach in the surf, not knowing or caring where he was going. His once bright blue eyes were bloodshot and dulled to a slate gray. He had walked around this truly beautiful province for days on end with out eating, trying to find a place where he could be able to forget the constant breaking of his heart.
His once sunny blond hair was now scraggly and his once smiling face was set in a grim line. Tears often spilled from the cracked eyelids and the bruised cheeks. He could never stop from crying when he thought of how Mandah was supposed to have been different, but had been like all the other girls he'd met.
He'd never been able to find the right one, and had all but given up on it. His relationships never seemed to last more than a year and although all those pretty screaming fans he met on tour professed to "love" him, he knew better. All they wanted to do was gain his affections and then go tell all her friends she was dating "THE" Nick Carter before dumping him like garbage.
He wished that he could find one girl who could love him genuinely and care about him, about his welfare. Lord knew he'd do anything to get a chance to date a girl like that. So, he had come to P.E.I where the girls were supposed to be friendly and kind. Well, he hadn't been able to meet any girls in this province yet, because they were all on vacation or doing some kind of activity away from home.
He suddenly felt a wave of intense exhaustion come over him and he collapsed into the the sand, too exhausted to even get up, he fell unconscious, and stayed there for several hours.

Home?
