Chapter 1

I sat alone on my cloud perch; my soft-feathered wings relaxed open behind me. I watched the world pass by under me, once and a while a bird would come and sit with me, the only real company I could get up here.

My name is Priscilla, although everyone always called me Sport. I must have been up here for only twenty years, dying in 1980. I was sent here, where is here? Heaven of course. I found that being just a spirit was quite dull within the first week of my arrival. I wanted to become an ArchAngel, the highest-ranking angel possible, they have direct contact with the big man himself, they are the messengers of God.

I myself am what the superiors call a GAIT or a Gardian Angel in Training.

The second step from just an Angel. I only had about 100 more years to go.

Things up here are much different from what they are like on your earth. The earth I once lived on. Things are much happier, and much duller. There is no crime (besides the occasional halo theft every decade or so), no illness (duh, we are all dead), and no suffering. In other words, perfect. I personally liked the suspense of living day to day, but now, it is just one constant span of time that never ends.

I thought about life as I used to know it, life I wish now had never ended. I missed my family dearly. I liked going back to the earth for missions; I learned much more than I could have if I was not killed in the car wreck in 1980.

My superior in charge of my training was a middle aged woman (well, looking anyway, I looked as I did when I died when I was 23) named Kat, approached me holding her clipboard and flipping through my records.

"Sport, you are on again." She said in a serious tone. Her eyes showed the seriousness she spoke in. "A mission of great importance, many people rely on the good outcome of this one."

I turned to face her, folding my wings behind me. "What is it?"

"One of our Guard Angels found that a young woman, CeCe Demoin is planning on destroying the lives of a young couple. A Mr. Kevin Richardson and his wife Kristen Richardson." She started reading off the report given to her. "Your job is to make sure that doesn't take place."

"Richardson, where have I heard that before?" I asked thinking.

"Kevin is a member in a very popular Pop group known as Backstreet Boys, he and his wife were just recently married, this CeCe is a fan who is not all too thrilled of the arrangement."

"Oh, that's right. They are good." I said thinking how I could have gotten messed up here.

"The Council chose you for this job because of your amazing results on your past missions." Kat said. She smoothed her distinguishing robe and glanced at me for my response.

"I guess I have no choice on this one do I?" I asked standing and shaking the ruffled feathers of my wings to a more mannerly look.

"Then you start tonight. Here are the details, and don't forget the rules of an Angel." Kat said and left.
