Chapter 4

Haylie almost limped when Nick opened the door to her house,her parents had the most worried expressions Haylie had ever seen before in her life. But suddenly both of their eyes looked at Nick...thinking the obvious,"Haylie what happend?" Her father asked suspisosly still eyeing Nick. Haylie looked at her father back,with a weird expression and then remembered she knew why he thought he could think of accusing Nick,"Oh,mom,dad,it was Kyle." She managed to say. "Are you sure it wasn't-" "No,it wasn't him." She said looking at Nick Nick walked Haylie over to the couch and helped her sit down while her mom went to get bandages and ointmemnt,"I better go." He said heading for the door. Her dad coughed,"No,um,thank you,for helping Haylie out,I know you've both started out rough and it was really nice of you to help Haylie out." "Your welcome." He said smiling "Why don't you come with me in my office and we can have a little chat." "Um yeah sure." Before he went with her dad he turned around and for the first time ever,he gave Hayile a light smile..one from his heart. Her mom had seen it all and gave Haylie the craziest expression,Haylie just sighed,"Weird isn't it?" "REALLY weird,you guys hate eachother to death at first now your making goo goo eyes at eachother!" "Hey! Goo goo eyes?! Yeah right! It was a 'SMILE' mother,that's all!" "Sure!" "It was!" "Haylie,dear,your my daughter and I know you like a book,your starting to fall for him!" "I am NOT!" "So your telling me you haven't fell for those,beautiful deep blue eyes and blonde hair huh?" She said exaggerating. "That's exactly what I'm saying!" "Well,if you guys start dating,I'm only telling you FOUR words!" Kathy said putting Neosporin on Haylie's scraped knee. "And what are those words going to be?" "I TOLD YOU SO!" Haylie just laughed relizing how funny it would be if it really happend,just then her father and Nick came out of the room. "Haylie,you should thank Nick before he leaves."Her father said. "Yeah,I know. Mom can you help me up? I want to talk to Nick now." Her mom just grinned while she helped her up,"Yes dear." Haylie threw her mom a dirty look before walking into the long hall with Nick,"Look,I know like everyone says he really started off bad,but I really want to thank you for helping me out back there. You didn't have to you know." "Yeah well,I don't think I had that much of a black heart to just leave you there while I was just watching." She smiled,"Well,thank you okay? Hey,let's have this forever truce okay? I mean,let's...be friends?" She suggested. He returned the smile,"Alright,"He said shaking her hand,"Friends." ** "Haylie,what the heck happend to you?" Christina said looking at her with wide eyes. "It was Kyle."She answered simply "Are you going to be okay?" Christina said laying a soft hand on Haylie's shoulder. "Yeah,I'm fine." She seemed...not at all affected by what happend. Like she was in her own world. "Who is he?" "Huh?" Haylie asked confused. "You heard me," She said walking faster to catch up with Haylie. They were walking to school,they both had cars,but they also both thought the excersise was good,"Who is he? I've known you forever and there's a guy on your mind RIGHT now. And I also know it's not Kyle." "Chris,your in denial!" "No,YOUR in denial! Who is it?," Christina put a finger on her chin as and thought for a moment,"Nick,it's him isn't it?" "No." She said simply,although grinning the moment she heard the name 'Nick.' "Oh yes it is!" Christina shrieked,"Oh my gosh you guys are going to make such a cute couple!" ** Haylie walked up her block and turned around and seen two blonde guys playing catch in the front yard,then she noticed the older one was Nick. Instead of throwing her the mean/confused look he gave her last time...he smiled at her and waved. Aaron had the most shocked expression on his face ever,and Nick just laughed at it. Haylie smiled and waved back and mouthed,"Hi." She walked up the stairs into her room and heard the phone ring almost immediatly,"Yeah?" She said running to get it. "Haylie,Tracy,Ashley,Gabby and I are going to the park to check out some guys,wanna come?"Christina said in her fast voice. "Yeah,sure,I'll meet you guys over there okay?" "You don't want us to pick you up?" "Nah,I feel like walking." "Okay,see ya there!" The park Christina was talking about wasn't a kiddy park,it was one with like only trees and a big side walk,with wide spaces and beautiful forest green grass. Usually it was a common hang out for teenagers and people who jogged and ran alot,stuff like that. Haylie had been wearing her dark pink long sleeved shirt and long black skirt. She felt like dressing up that day,who knew why... She got to the park and looked around for her friends,but the first thing she seen was a blonde that she knew was Nick and a girl who looked almost exactly like her...
