949ZHT RADIO INTERVIEW, 03/03/2000

The following transcript is typed by me, meaning, I had to rewind the tape for about a hundred times to get this done. Therefore, please do NOT take the following material unless you have my permission to do so. Thank you.

The DJs were: Frankie, Kelli, and D.B

Frankie: We have a special guest on the line. I don’t know if you watch MTV, but they’ve got this group on there, they called themselves "2gether." The group basically is a mockery of all of the boybands. This is a pretty funny thing, you got to watch for it because it’s pretty funny. But we have Evan Farmer on the line here. Good morning, Evan!

Evan: Good morning!

Frankie: Should we call you Jerry O’Keefee? That’s your character in 2gether.

Evan: That’s the character.

Frankie: So do you want us to call you Evan or Jerry, I mean, are you in the character right now or what?

Evan: No. It’s too early in the morning for that.

Frankie: Okay.

Frankie: Why don’t you explain to our listeners who haven’t seen this, because this is pretty funny. But explain what exactly 2gether is and what you guys do on MTV.

Evan: Basically, 2gether is a mocumentory on what goes in putting together a boyband. And it kinda follows the progression, we gathered the five separate type of any successful boy’s band, all the way down to Orlando, Florida. So we got the, my character Jerry plays the heartthrob, the leader.

D.B: The leader.

Evan: …the shy guy

Frankie: right, right…

D.B: And Leonardo if you are a Ninjun Turtle.

(all laughed)

Evan: You got Doug, who plays the older brother type, and that’s actually played by Kevin Farley.

Frankie: That’s Chris’ younger brother, right?

Evan: That is.

Frankie: Cuz he looks just like Chris Farley.

D.B: That’s freaky, man.

Evan: Yeah, yeah. They all grew up doing comedy together, it’s "2nd city in Chicago."

Frankie: So is he pretty animated? Cuz he looks like, when you guys do that stuff on MTV, he looks like he is animated just like his brother was.

Evan: Yeah, he’s very animated. He’s really good.

Kelli: So now, Is there a Elton John type in there because, you know, Elton John claims that he has slept with all the boybands?

(all laughed)

Evan: No.

(DJs laughed even harder)

Evan: We are not that kind of movie.

Frankie: Well I got an email, cuz we were talking about you being on the show yesterday, and one of our listeners, Joanna, and she is in Provo I believe, or Orem (I am actually from Salt Lake City), and she is one of the people that started your official website.

Evan: She did.

Frankie: Do you know who this is?

Evan: I do. Her webpage has the most up-to-date…I don’t even know what was going on until I got a webpage.

Frankie: yeah, cuz she said you visited it every single day (I said "regularly"), you checked the guest signing book, and you kinda contributed to the website.

Evan: I try to as much as I can.

Frankie: And it’s, let’s see here…I guess forget the www, it’s go.to/EvanFarmer.com, I would think..is that what it is? (it’s actually go.to/EvanFarmer J )

Evan: Apparently she has got a new address as well. You can get there both way. EvanFarmer.cc

Kelli: There you go.

Frankie: Great, not bad.

Kelli: dot CC.

Frankie: All right.

Evan: Yeah.

Frankie: See, that’s us. That’s clear channel. We are behind that new domain. We actually purchased the dot cc, and there’s a way you can go on to Spark.cc and buy the domain. And Joanna must have done that.

Evan: I guess so. She does a great job with that thing, I tell ya. She keeps, like chart information, with the Billboard charts…

Frankie: Wow.

Evan: …up-to-date information and our records on TRL, you know, if I forget what I got to do the next day, just clicked on and…(Evan laughed)

Frankie: How funny is that. Now tell us about this mock band, this mock boyband. Are you guys actually going to go out and tour?

Evan: Well, I don’t know. They’ve got a lot of plans…we…they definitely want us to do a lot of personal characters since we’ve already done some of, like on the MTV music awards, that kind of things. But...cuz we actually do sing all of our music.

D.B: You guys definitely should tour.

Frankie: You should, that would be pretty funny.

Evan: Yeah. Well, I think Britney Spears offered us to open for her some plans, but I don’t know if she was told to say that. But, yeah, it would be fun. They’ve got some other things line up, which are unofficial, so I can’t really…

Frankie: Give us a hint of what it is…I understand that you can’t…

Evan: We’re gonna be on MTV a bunch more.

Frankie: A bunch more?

Evan: Yeah.

Frankie: Okay.

Evan: I hope that’ll work.

Frankie: Okay, that should work. But look for these guys. Anything that is locked in you can promote with 2gether or no?

Evan: Umm…no.

Frankie: Nothing? Just kinda watch for MTV cuz you guys are re-running that mockumentary and you look for the video and stuffs like that.

Evan: They are going to make a big announcement real soon.

D.B: Who is your favorite, other, little boy? Who is…like your pal, I would say, in the whole deal?

Evan: Who is my pal? You know what my pal was and is, it’s the manager, Alan Blumenfeld, played by Allan Blumenfeld himself. We started the whole thing together.

Evan: Oh you did?

D.B: That’s rad.

Evan: Yeah, he signs me and coaches me how to become a boyband leader. Actually it started out I’m supposed to be a Ricky Martin, but solo act has gone its way to the jitterbug.

(all laughed)

Kelli: So, did you kinda look at some of the boybands? I mean, who did you model yourself after? Which boyband would you say the most?

Evan: We took things from everybody. Made some up on our own.

Frankie: That’s what makes it funny. You gotta watch out for this on MTV, Kelli, it’s pretty funny.

Kelli: So who is your favorite boyband? In real life? And do you have a favorite boyband or do you hate them with the rest of us?

Evan: No, do you know what, it’s solid entertainment. You gotta give them that. They are making money for that so you figure that they are doing something right.

Kelli: Yeah, as matter of fact, Backstreet Boys just made 60 million dollars last year. (hey, don’t dis the Backstreet Boys!)

Frankie: Yeah, I’ll give you the fact that they are making money, but I don’t know about solid entertainment.

Evan: Oh, come on now. Did you see the American Music Awards?

Frankie: Yeah.

Evan: Okay, tell me if Nsync was not fair on that show?

Frankie: Oh…they were bad.

(DJs laughed)

Frankie: Bad to the bone.

Kelli: Bad good or bad bad?

Frankie: Bad bad, man. Get with the scene Kelli. Trying to be down with the whole thing with the lingo. Okay, Evan Farmer man, 2gether, look for them on MTV. It’s pretty funny stuffs. We appreciate you taking the time to be on the show this morning.

Evan: Cool, thanks a lot. And hi Joanna!

Frankie: (laughed), Alright, cool man.

My random thoughts: Oh my gosh…this is NOT happening!! I cannot believe, in a million year, that Evan Farmer would say "hi" to me on the show!!! What else more could I possibly ask for? I was seriously jumping up and down when I heard that because I wasn’t sure if Frankie, one of the DJs, has gotten my email or not. But this is truly amazing and I cannot believe Evan could be so nice. I am going to faint….LOL
