2GETHER – MUSIC FROM THE MTV ORIGINAL TV MOVIE SET FOR RELEASE FEBRUARY 15 ON TVT SOUNDTRAX * S
TVT Soundtrax in association with MTV Networks is proud to announce the February 15 release of the soundtrack to "2gether," the debut made-for-television movie from the newly created MTV Original TV Movies division. 2gether – Music from the MTV Original TV Movie contains all of the music featured in the film, largely consisting of authentic yet hilarious send-ups of the sappy boy-band hits of today. Songs include such sing-along fare as the disc’s first single, "U + Me = Us (Calculus)," as well as "Say It (Don’t Spray It)" and "You’re My Baby Girl."
Utilizing the talents of top pop writers and producers Viet Renn (Backstreet Boys, N’Sync) and R&B production team KNS Productions, 2gether’s music rivals any of the genre’s top hits. What is more impressive is that the actors actually perform these songs.
about the film
Helmed by acclaimed video director, Nigel Dick (Guns N’ Roses, Britney Spears,) "2gether" is a spoof of behind-the-scenes music industry maneuvering in which inept music manager Bob Buss (Alan Blumenfeld) has been fired from his job with chart-topping boy-band, Whoa! With a Svengali-esque attitude, he combs the country in an exhaustive search to fulfill the perfect, fail-safe formula to bring teenage girls to their knees and to unseat Whoa! as the MTV darlings-of-the-moment. His creation is 2gether, consisting of "the heart throb" Jerry O’Keefe (Evan Farmer), "the rebel" Mickey Parke (Alex Solowitz), "the cutie" Jason ‘QT’ McKnight (Michael Cuccione), "the shy one" Chad Linus (Noah Bastian) and "the older brother" Doug Linus (Kevin Farley).
A video for "U + Me = Us (Calculus)" – also directed by Nigel Dick – will world premiere on MTV’s Total Request Live in the coming weeks when the group makes an in-studio appearance. "2gether," the movie will premiere on MTV on Monday, February 21.
