After listening to "2Gether Again" thoroughly, it is quite obvious that the 2Gether boys have improved their vocal skills, harmony, and the artistic aspect of music. Where else can you find actors that can sing like Boyz II Men? In less than half years, and they have improved themselves so drastically...wow!
1. 5Gether
What a great track to start the album! "5Gether" is not your traditonal pop song, but has a hip-pop feel to it, like LFO's "Summer Girl." Evan sounds so cool when he raps. Love that deep voice of his.
2. The Hardest Part of Breaking Up (is getting back your stuff)
This song is SO catchy and is a great follow-up after the success of "U + Me = Us." Alex has definitely added a "flavor" to the track, esp. the part where he raps. It is actually quite amazing that a great pop song can be so funny at the same time. One thing though, I still think it should be called "getting back my stuff" rather than "your stuff."
3. Every Minute, Every Hour
This is definitely one of my favorites. It has a great sound and a bright tone that just add a smile on my face when listening to it. But here is another reason to like the song: Howie from BSB and Andrew Fromm, the man responsible from couple songs off the "Millennium" album, actually co-wroted it.
4. That's When I'll Be Gone
This is one of those edgy songs on the album. A great dance track with a Latin-feel, though I am not really feeling it. The guitar in the back is a nice touch.
5. Awesum LuvR
First of all, I love the way how they spell the song. Very original. Evan does a good job on the high notes. As weird as it may seem, the lyric to this song is probably my favorite. And...Kevin actually SINGS in this song! You can tell he puts a lot of effort to not sing flat.
6. I Gave My 24-7 To You
I am SO IN LOVE with this song. Tony Battablia and Henry Gross are music GENIUSES for writing such a beautiful song. The minor-key in the beginning of the song really puts you in the right mood. And listen to the harmony! Can you believe it?! This song is actually pretty high for guys. I am very impressed with how Evan and Noah carry those high notes with their head voices. Well-done guys!
7. Right Where It Counts
Another edgy song very heavy on drums. Don't have much to say about this one. But I do like how Kevin keeps talking in the back while the guys are singing.
8. Sister
Tell me the boys don't sound like Boyz II Men in this song! I love it as much as "I Gave My 24-7 To You." The song shows such a great harmony and tightness. The "how old is she anyway" in the end is very nice!
9. The Way You Do Me
Oh, this just reminds me of those crazy outfits in the 2nd episode of "2Gether: the series." The slow transition is nice and Noah has a very soothing voice.
10. You're The Only One That's Real
Here is a perfect Valentine's Day song for ya. Noah sounds beautiful in it. And when Evan starts singing the 2nd verse, oh lordy, my heart is melting. :)
11. I Wanna Know Your Name
I actually don't like this song that much when I heard it the first time. However, when Evan sings "I've been pulling, I've been playing, for so long my heart's been waiting; finally love someone like you," I just fell in love with it. There is something about that line I really dig; maybe it's how the notes are arranged. I don't know, it gives me this very mysterious feel.
12. U & U & Me
Okay, this song should be rated PG-13. The song is alright, but the message behind it...let's not go there. Guess that's what makes this song funny!
13. Regular Guy
This so reminds me of the movie "the Wedding Singer," when Adam Sandler just breaks off in the middle of the song that he has written for his ex-g/f and starts screaming like crazy. But hey, gotta appreciate the fact that Alex actually co-wroted it.
