REVIEWS

Don’t say I didn’t warn you, this is going to be a long review! I watched the tape three times in total: the first time I watched for solid entertainment, then I watched it again with my friend, and the third time, I actually took notes so I could give you all the details. Okay, I am a nerd! LOL

Let’s go in chronological order…2Gether first did a press conference before the actual performances. Basically, they talked about how excited they were to be a part of such positive event. And the following are some great quotes said by Evan:

“We love to do shows for people who don’t necessarily get to go to our concerts, when especially it’s for a good cause like this.” Then, he said, “making a difference is definitely paramount in the entertainment industry…it’s something we’ll like to be a part of.”

A “2Gether” pun was inevitable, as the reporter asked the guys how long they have been “2Gether?” When the guys were asked about what they think of all the attention they have been getting, here is Evan’s response:

“It’s wild. If you think about it, 7 months ago we were all working and trying to get our next job. The attention gives us a chance to do something like this [for the charity]…I’m really hoping it’ll take off all across the country.”

Furthermore, Evan expressed the thought that “we [2Gether] are flattered that you chose us…you could have had anyone, but you chose us.” Though Evan answered most of the question, he still remembered to show his sense of humor. Since there was only one microphone for the whole group, Evan was like, “we need a wheel on this thing!”

When Evan talked about how they would be opening for Britney Spears, Kevin joked around and said “then we’ll open for Korn…” “next year we’ll have a world tour and Nsync will open for us,” Michael said.

Toward the end of the conference, Evan said, “…it’s great we can reach a lot of people. Those who don’t like boyband music might like us because we are funny; those who do like music might like us because we do it just like anybody else…just like a big open stratosphere.” Personally, I think 2Gether is so much better than N sync. Like this guy from Oasis has said, “it’s not about record sales, it’s about keeping it real.” 2Gether definitely keeps it real!!! Lastly, according to Alex, he flunked Pre-Algebra.

Overall, Evan, being the leader of the group, did most of the talking. Alex was being unusually quiet; Kevin was hilarious; Chad and Michael talked a little bit, but were basically repeating what Evan and Kevin have said.

Now, about the concert....

Say It (Don’t Spray It)
Personally, I really enjoyed this performance, since it was the first time I saw them performing this song live, unless you count the movie scene. As I was watching the tape with my friend, she pointed out what a nice butt Evan has…so I took a closer look! (just kidding!) You know what I think is way cute? When Evan sang the line “your ass if very pleasing,” he did this hand gesture, like when you slap at someone’s butt. That is just totally sexy and no one can do it better than Evan. Evan accidentally bumped into Kevin during the song…so that was pretty funny.

After they sang “Say It,” Evan introduced each member of the group. My goodness, the audience was LOUD!!! People were screaming during the whole show. If I didn’t know 2Gether was performing, I would have thought it was Backstreet Boys on the stage. Kenmore High definitely has love for 2Gether, especially Kevin. People just loved him!

Before We Say Good-Bye
2Gether performed “before” next, and Noah asked the audience to quiet down a little for the ballad. But of course, no one listened. Though I couldn’t hear them that well because of the screaming crowd, 2Gether definitely can “sing in harmony!” Since they were performing for a high school, I thought they would have changed the lyric for this song a little bit, especially the “can I still have sex with you” part. Guess again, they didn’t change a word and it was so funny when Alex pointed at Evan while singing “girl don’t do any other guy.” However, my favorite part during the song is when Evan pretended to be throwing a baseball as he sang the line “before we throw it all away.” Cute! It’s all these little things that make 2Gether so likable!

U + Me = Us (Calculus)
Before the boys performed “Calculus,” they taught the audience to the “ u + me = us” signs. Oh boy, were they naughty during the intro of the song. Evan did the “slap-your-butt” gesture with his hands again, which I adore, and Alex grabbed his “thing” (if you know what I mean) when he sang “straight to second base.” That was bad, but funny! During the part where Alex rapped, he jumped down to the audience to shake people’s hands. Girls were all over him! Then, it was Noah’s turn to give some love to the audience. He jumped to the right hand side of the auditorium while Evan went to the left. The room was totally packed: there were faculty members, students, parents…everyone was there!

In the end of the show, Michael and Kevin threw their sweaty towels to the audience. You know what was weird, Kevin kept screaming “I love Doug, DOUG, DOUG, DOUG!” Then, the boys passed out 2Gether posters and stickers. Aren’t those kids lucky?! And lastly, Evan whispered something to Kevin’s ear and said, “we have to hop into a plane and go to New York.”

I guess that’s it. Wait, I have to acknowledge visitor Jim for recording the press conference and the concert for me. He recorded EVERYTHING, so basically, I was like at the concert myself! I cannot thank him enough for what he has done for the site. If he hadn’t had that video recorder with him the whole time, he could have shaken Alex’s, Kevin’s and even Noah’s hand. So, we definitely have some of the greatest visitors here at evanfarmer.cc.
