subject: "awesum" new music

Girl Power is coming back at ya! Yes, I am a Spice Girls fan and not afraid to admit it! I truly believe they are the ones that brought pop music back to the main stream. Their new single, "Holler," totally rocks!! I usually don't like songs that imply "inappropriate references," but they made "Holler" rather tasteful. I love the funcky beat, male interjection, and the video is "off-the-hook!" Victoria, a.k.a Posh Spice looks so great with long hair. Personally, I think the girls are better off without Geri. (Sorry, but she can't even sing!)

Their album "Forever," however, consists of only 5 songs I like. I am SO going to persuade my teacher to do "Goodbye" for my performing group's Disney Tour, which is coming up in March. Can't wait to watch them performing the song at the 2000 European Music Awards on Monday night.

Another brilliant album I have bought is Christina Aguilera's Spanish album - "Mi Reflejo." Christina is the perfect example of someone who is gifted with an amazing voice! Though I don't like her image as much, her voice is incredible! In fact, I think her Spanish album is better than the English one.

"Pero Me Acuerdo De Ti" (But I Remember You) is definitely my favorite, I can literally listen to it for couple hours straight. "Si No Te Hubiera Conocido" (If I Hadn't Met You), a duet with Luis Fonsi, is undoubtedly in the same rank as Mariah/Boyz II Men's (One Fine Day) or Jessica/Nick's "Where You Are." LOVE IT! BMG really should make it a single in the states. Most of all, there is the song "Contigo En La Distancia" (With You In The Distance), an absolute Mexican classic. That song gives me chills. I highly recommend you to put "Mi Reflejo" on your X'mas wish list.

Yeah, James Taylor is going to be on NBC's "Today Show" Tuesday morning! Finally, I can watch the man whom Evan admires performing live.
