Note From Sandy

Hey fellow 2Ge+herites!

Boy oh boy, the shows are getting depressing!  Just *knowing* that the series is coming to an end is getting me down.  However, I've heard lots of other good things...about future projects for the guys, 2Ge+her dolls, and much more, so take a look down in the news section for a little picker-upper!  (Old and new updates are mixed together, so make sure to skim through the *entire* section for the full low-down!)

In addition, I've got a few more things that I'd like to stick up here in my section:

1. VOTE ON TRL FOR "THE HARDEST PART OF BREAKING UP (IS GETTING BACK YOUR STUFF)" THIS MONDAY, MARCH 26!  So far, hundreds of 2Ge+her fans are doing this as a memorial to their last episode that night.  If we could get the video on the air, it would truly show MTV that we cared about 2Ge+her.  Do it for the guys!  (The phone number is 1-800-DIAL MTV...a free call...or you could go to MTV.com >>TRL >> Play My Song and write them in.)  Write a reminder to yourself so that you won't forget.

2. Once again, the National Grief Hotline is 1-800-826-3632.  If you're having problems dealing with Michael's death, PLEASE call this number and talk to someone.  I know that many of you don't have friends that like 2Ge+her that you can talk to, but this free phone call could really help.  Heck, if you need to talk, I've always got an open ear, too...just don't do anything crazy.

3. I've heard soooo many complaints about the series ending, begging MTV to reconsider.  That, my friends, is unfortunately *not* going to happen.  As Mrs. B brought up, we'll just have to settle for the future projects of the guys (which, judging by Noah's performance last night, may just be equally incredible as 2Ge+her's been!).  If you've still gotta complain to *someone*, though, don't leave clutter on anonymous message boards.  Write snail mail to:

            MTV Viewer Services

            1515 Broadway

            New York, NY  10036

                        or

            Brian Graden

            President of Programming and Production

            MTV Networks

            2600 Colorado Ave

            Santa Monica, CA 90404

                        or

            2GETHER

            c/o MTV Networks

            1515 Broadway

            New York, NY  10036

and just let them know that you're going to miss 2Ge+her 4ever.

4.

2Ge+her dolls have been released!  These hot items (like, literally hot, totally!) are being sold at select Kohl's Department Store locations...and rumor has it that Toys-R-Us is also expecting them in the near future.  I've heard that they're in stock at Kohl's in the eastern US, but I live in Ohio (which, for Chad fans, is in the east) and haven't seen one yet.  After calling several locations in my area, I've determined that nobody's sure when they're coming, but they apparently will be in all Kohl's locations soon.  We'll see.  I hear that QT dolls are VERY difficult to find, so you might want to call your local Kohl's on a regular basis.  New shipments come in 4-5 times a week on weekdays.

What do they look like?  These descriptions are from tinemorp@noahsmom.com:

"The dolls are each a little under a foot tall and each come with a mic and necklace.

Noah (Chad): orange Hawaiian shirt, army pants, looks like he has a white tank top underneath, earrings (her complaint: no dimple)

Alex (Mickey): orange shirt (not like Noah's), green pants that look like the ones that you can zip part off to make shorts (her complaint: hair is odd-looking)

Evan (Jerry): blue sweater, dark khaki pants (her complaint: looks fat...'cause of sweater?)

Kevin (Doug): pink Hawaiian shirt, khaki pants (her complaint: doesn't look like him)

She does not have the Michael (QT) doll yet."

5.

Is Paramount interested in filming a movie based on Michael Cuccione's life?  Did Michael record a few songs before January that may be released?  Will Noah (Chad) be featured in an upcoming episode of "Days of Our Lives?"  Stay tuned...

6.

Last night on 2Ge+her: The Series, the guys participate in an auction for The Biliary Thrombosis Foundation (a charity for QT's fictional illness, since he is in the hospital) where girls bid money for a date with a 2Ge+her member.  While the girls bid during their performance, however, Chad becomes so nervous about potentially having his first kiss that he passes out, stopping the show.  Later, Mickey and Jerry find out that they've been won by the same girl (and later make out with the same girl on the same bed at the same time...which is awkward and not exactly what I think they meant by "2Ge+her"), one of the What-Ev execs scores with QT's date (since QT was unable to attend), and Doug and Chad collaborate to make Chad's experience a pleasant (and absolutely HILARIOUS) one.  Overall, each of them is shown kissing...but boy, the magic in the air is strongest when Chad finally has his first kiss!  Can't wait to see Noah in a romantic lead!

Here’s the transcript of the Kevin Farley (Doug) chat from 02-19-01.  Hooray!  Read it, in its entirety, below, and if anybody has the transcript of the Evan Farmer (Jerry) chat from that night, please let me know (subj: Here Is Evan’s Chat).

"MTV.com, 11 pm EST, 2-19-01

Moderator:

Welcome to tonight's 2Ge+her chat.  We're here tonight to share our thoughts and remember our friend Michael Cuccione with the creators of 2Ge+her and Kevin Farley who plays "Doug."  It's been a difficult time for all of us.  We'd like to get together with our viewers to talk about this tragedy and try to understand and heal our wounds. The chat begins in five minutes.

Mark:

Hi, this is Mark Gunn, creator and executive producer of 2Ge+her.

Kevin:

Hello, I'm Kevin Farley.

Jenpleck:

Kevin, I know Michael was very inspirational, giving, and loving.  What is one thing Michael did to inspire you?  Something that you makes you live or look at life differently?

Kevin:

Well, I think one of the things that I'll remember from Mike is his ability to always have a positive outlook on whatever situation he was in -- although he had trouble with his health, he never lost his positive attitude...and he also said, "Be thankful for your healthy body because your healthy body is a gift, and always take care of yourself -- your health!"

hodaddy8:

Mark, how was it to finish production on the show after Michael's death?

Mark:

Well, we had finished shooting the show when Michael died, but we still had to go on editing the show.  And it was very difficult to sit in the editing room and shape his performance...because at the time we were grieving Michael's loss at the same time we had to finish preparing the show.

hodaddy8:

Kevin, how was it working with Michael while he was sick?

Kevin:

Well it was obvious.  We wish he was healthier but Michael always put in 100% and he never wanted production to slow down for him.  He was pretty tough...he never complained.

wunlove637:

Have any of the guys talked to Michael's family members after?  If so, how are they reacting to this?

Mark:

We have all spoken to them.  The whole cast spoke to them.  We just spoke to his mother Gloria today...

Kevin:

I spoke to Gloria today.  She wanted to say hello to everyone on the chat line.  She wanted to come on tonight but couldn't do it...I agree!

Mark:

The Cucciones are a very strong tight-knit family, and they have a deep faith in God, and I think their faith has helped them get through this.  This is a very difficult time for them, you can imagine...and I think their faith has helped.  And the outpouring of grief around the world has made very clear to them that they are not alone with their suffering, and that's very important to them.

SprinkleSparkle3:

Kevin, where were you when you heard the news?  Who told you?

Kevin:

I was driving home from dinner with Roger Shulman our producer, and I got a call from Mark Grossan, and I notified all the band members, except Alex told Noah.

bonbon922:

Michael inspires me in every way possible...can you tell us a way that he inspired you?

Mark:

Even in the face of his suffering, he always carried himself with dignity and, as Kevin said, he never complained...he always looked right in the face of his illness and laugh and joke around.  He never burdened anyone around him with his suffering, not even his family, and that was always an inspiration to me...to go through something so awful, at such a young age, and do it with dignity.

Eventuality:

What's your fondest memory of Michael?

Kevin:

My fondest memory of Mike is probably -- we were backstage at Long Island doing a concert for 40,000 people and I remember being really nervous and excited and jumping around, and Mike looks at me, all calm, and told me to calm down.  Here was a 16-year-old kid, calm as a cucumber, and here I was jumping around...that is a fond memory I have of Mike.

Mark:

When we were shooting the very first episode, we were in between shots, and Kevin, Michael, Alex, and I...and my cousin Brian...we were goofing around.  Michael and Kevin did this routine where Michael was a robot and Kevin was his owner...I can't go into anymore detail...it was sort of off-color!  But it was one of the funniest things in my life...he was hilarious!  You wouldn't guess he was as funny as he was because his public image was of someone who was always in control, when in fact there were times when he could lose control and be outrageously funny!

Moderator:

Can you talk about if this was easier to deal with after going through it already with your brother?

Kevin:

Yeah, it brought back a lot of similar things and feelings...it is just very very very very difficult to comprehend and you need, like Mark said earlier, a lot of faith to field it...but yeah it was difficult.  It still is!

hodaddy8:

Brian and Mark, was Michael's character QT actually based on him in real life or was it just a coincidence that his character had a terminal illness?

Mark:

Coincidence...my cousin Brian and I conceived the character before we knew Michael.  Michael was cast because he was a terrific actor, a great singer, and good looking It was pure coincidental that he actually had an illness.

lucky_for_you:

Kevin, is there anything you regret not doing with or not saying to Michael?

Kevin:

Of course, you always have regrets. I went and saw him a couple of times while he was in the hospital and I wish I had gone a few more times...our schedules were busy and I wish I had gone to see him in the hospital more often than I did.

2gether4QT:

How do you think 2Ge+her had changed without Michael being in the cast?  Do you think that there is anyone out there that would ever take the place of him?

Mark:

No one will ever be able to replace Michael...there will never be another QT.  As to how 2Ge+her has changed...as I said, we finished shooting before Michael died...so 2Ge+her hasn't really been together since...so as a fake silly boy band, I'm sure it's changed, but we'll see how much it's changed when we get together in the context of the show.  But I can tell you, as people, that all the other guys have been greatly saddened by the loss, and it's changed all of us who knew and love him a great, great deal.

2g2Gurl:

What do you think the future of the show will be like?

Mark:

We don't know yet...it's up to MTV.  I don't know what's going to happen to the show.  Assuming the show continues, it will never be the same.  We will never be able to replace Michael.  We'll have to see what kind of shape 2Ge+her takes without Michael, and that has yet to be seen.

Eventuality:

How do you think Michael would want to be remembered, and how do you remember him?

Kevin:

I think Michael would want to be remembered as a kid that made a difference.  His model was making a difference and he wanted to make a difference.  In regards to trying to find a cure for cancer...his foundation...he poured his life and blood into it.  His cancer changed him from a regular kid to a kid with a crusade.  I think he would want to be remembered also as a just a nice guy who loved to sing, loved to act, and loved to dance…and, also, I will remember him much the same way as a really happy kid who was also my friend.

Mark:

I want to thank everyone for watching the show and especially thinking about and caring about Michael and his legacy.

Kevin:

I just wanted to say thanks for all the people for caring about our show and caring about Michael. Thank you for watching."  (Source: 2getherdotcom.com)

Yeah...

A-one, two, a-one, two, three, four...

Keep it, keep it, keep it...

JERRY:

Twelfth of April, we decided it was time.

I was feeling good.  You were looking fine

On the basement floor, with TRL behind.

You were lovin' me with Carson Daly on your mind.

CHORUS (ALL):

You're my baby girl.  You know that you are.

You're my honey bunch and my sweet lucky star.

So put your hand in mine.  I will slap your sweet behind.

You're my baby girl.

MICKEY:

My baby girl...

My baby girl...

JERRY:

E is for Erin, making out with you.

R is for all...that's what you like to do.

I is for eyes that are smilin' back at me.

N is for nasty, which we do constantly.

MICKEY:

Yeah-ah, heah-heah...

CHORUS

MICKEY:

Come on, come on...

Yeah...

JERRY:

Hot dogs, hamburgers, buns if you please...

Erin likes ketchup, but go easy on the cheese.

I like to look down at her naked from above.

She's just like Gwyneth Paltrow.  I'm like Shakespeare in love.
