EPISODE 14 - PIRATES
Summary: The recent death of Michael Cuccione, who played Q.T. in MTV's laugh-out-loud satire of boy bands, has left the series' cast and crew “devastated,” according to executive producer John Miller. But the show will go on. “His parents are behind us,” explains Miller. “They feel Michael would have wanted it that way.”
The series' second-season opener picks up where last season's cliffhanger left off, with Jerry, Mickey, Chad and Doug jumping from a rooftop to escape the police. The foursome then go underground---but are tempted to resurface when the record company uses Q.T. as bait to try to reel them in. Melissa Joan Hart guest stars.
Cast: Noah Bastian, Michael Cuccione, Kevin Farley, Evan Farmer, Alex Solowitz, Melissa Joan Hart, Brenda James, Dave McGowan
My Review: Wow, all of sudden it feels so weird writing these reviews again after such a long time! Don't set your expectation high, however, since I don't know if the upcoming reviews can match up with the previous ones. Anyway, the new episode started out cleverly, having a "typical boyband fanatic" as the narrator. I really think that's way cute! Don't you think Evan makes such a good D.J? That's yet another talent; even if the TV gig doesn't work out, his sexy voice sure will get him a career in the radio industry...except Evan looks too fine for a D.J.
Why the heck did they bring out "Right Where It Counts" again?! The song itself is okay, but I absolutely DISLIKE the choreography, which consists of some of the corniest moves ever! And the fact that 2Gether were performing that song in front of a bunch of kids (and male too!), that's just too weird for me. Darn, I probably shouldn't say this, but why is Evan always the one grabbing his "stuff?" (remember the video "the hardest part?") What's wrong with the choreographer? Doesn't he know how UNATTRACTIVE that looks? And readers, it's not like I wanted to notice that intensionally, I guess I was just staring at Evan throughout the whole episode and thus noticed all these little stuffs. Wait, what I just wrote sounds kinda negative..doesn't it?! And we all know it's not Evan's fault...hmmm..To backspace (is that even a verb?) or not to backspace, that is the question. Nah...just hope Evan doesn't read it.
Ooh, the shower scene! For some reason, it is totally hysterical for me seeing someone who acts all dramatic and tries to look sexy. Thus, I almost died watching Evan's shower scene. And what's that thing Evan is holding? A sponge? That looks like a soap to me and he's putting that to his mouth? Yuck. On another note, Kevin's character - DOUG just totally gross me out in this episode. I thought we were done with the whole masturbation scene! But oh no, the writer obviously thinks that's very attractive and brings it back to the show. I was and still am infuriated by this. YUCK, YUCK, YUCK!!!
Pirate-ocity, another new vocab. for me. I wonder if Evan-ocity is a word?! Though there are quite a few things I don't like about "Pirates," seeing Michael on the show again brings me both tears and joy. Isn't life weird? One minute you see Michael acting in front of you and the next minute you come to the realization that he's gone. Michael's death just makes me treasure my life even more, and how priceless every minute of my existence on earth is. "Living is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that's all." I give this episode a B+. By the way, what did Melissa Joan Hart do to her hair? The gothic look is totally not her!
