EPISODE 11 - AWESOMENESS

Summary: Humiliated when they are hired to play at a kids' party, the members of 2Gether turn their backs on their boy-band roots, eschewing pop music in an attempt to become 'serious.'

My Review: Awesomosity, is that even a word? I personally don't think 2Gether can truly achieve awesomeness without Michael. 2Gether is all about team efforts! As I was watching the show, it became clearer to me that issue presented in this episode is a direct reflection of issue concerning the group in real life. To this very day, some people still consider 2Gether a joke, since the group is created with intension of not to be taken seriously. It really is a joy for me to see Noah, Alex, Michael, Kevin and of course Evan transforming into REAL artists with REAL fans, REAL record company and REAL lives as entertainers.

Besides being hysterically hilarious, I am especially impressed by the "intellectual" level of this episode's materials. "Clever flattio metaphors" is indeed very impressive, but I don't think there is such a word as "flattio," if I spelt correctly. OH, here is my favorite part: "Anthology of Awesomeness, Volume IV. It's part of a planned nine-album set. At some point we'll go back and make Volume I, which will have unsettling inconsistency with later volumes." Absolutely brilliant! On another note, if you really think about it, the whole process of becoming teen "idols" is indeed very much like a "metaphyscial journey" - so abstract and abstruse, for 2Gether. It's very difficult to reason or explain how a mere parody could have become a pop sensation and accomplished 2 albums, a movie, tour, and a series all in less than a year! This could very well be some far-fetched fantasy since it has never been done before prior to 2Gether. The boys should be very proud of themselves. The whole "what is what" thing is too clever - so theoretical and philosophical. Could this world, which seems so real to us, be nothing but an illusion? That's something for you to ponder. :) By the way, Zurich is a canton North of Switzerland in case anyone was wondering.

Fashion wise, I really dig Evan's gray suit. He looks way good in it and it's nice to see him in something other than black, though black IS his color. For some reason, I can totally see 2Gether preaching in those white coats. They look so serious, religious and calm. Oh, can't forget the "root," - the patriotic costumes! "Oh say can you see..." (stop that, Joanna!)

This episode is packed with funny moments. "Why am I the only one being awesome?" I found that very hilarious. And the whole next-level thing, with Alex rapping "...makes you scream in 7 different languages," the expression on Noah's face just killed me. Above all, I am SO SO glad Evan gets to demonstrate his guitar-playing skill in Awesomeness. Though "I C U" is a little bit cheesy and shallow, the melody is amazing! I wonder if he actually wrote the song? (click here to hear me singing this song. I know, I am such a dork. :P) Can I just tell you, probably for the millionth time, how much I LOVE Evan's voice?! Besides Brian Littrell from BSB, Brian McKnight and Celine Dion, Evan is one of the few artists out there whose voice I REALLY like. I know what you must be thinking, "she likes everything that has to do with Evan." True, but I have always been a fan of his deep charming voice!

I give it an A for the excellent performance, impressive dialogue, and the growth in maturity of our "Chadwin" (what a surprise!) As for next week's episode preview, it just breaks my heart seeing Evan's teary eyes. (Don't torture me like that!) I know this might sound rude, but I am not 100% convinced that Erin truly loves Evan. He is WAY too committed in this relationship and not receiving the same affection he has given to her. Here is my philosophy: you should always find someone that loves YOU more than you love him/her. This especially applies to girls, since female is much more vulnerable than male. But we are talking about Evan here, so we can bend the statement a little. Okay, I better shut up now after writing the longest review ever. :)
