As Rich held his best friend in his arms, Nikki turned around and looked him in the eyes.
"Sing for me?" She asked quietly, he looked confusingly in her eyes.
"What?" He asked, she looked down, but he stayed quiet.
"Will you sing for me?"
"Why?"
"For memory's sake?" How could he go against something like that? He pulled her back into his arms and wrapped the blanket around her. He hummed Open Arms to her and when he finished she was fast asleep. Rich's heart was beating twice as fast as it should of, his palms were sweaty. He felt something inside his heart, he never felt before, and will never feel again.
"I love you Nikki." He whispered and fell asleep. When he woke up, she was gone. He was in his bed and there was no sign of Nikki. When he went downstairs he saw her. She was drinking orange juice and reading the paper. When he came down she smiled and got up. She gave him a hug and he wrapped his arms around her and held her.
"I love you too." She whispered. Rich looked up quickly and his face turned crimson. She just smiled and made him look at her.
"I heard you last night, I was half asleep but I still heard you. Why didn't you tell me?" Rich looked away again and tried to calm down.
"I was scared, why else?" She could tell how embarrassed he was. He never really explained emotions well.
"Do you love me?" She asked, he finally did look into her eyes.
"More then anything." She smiled again and leaned up to kiss him.
"Then I'm yours."
