Winter, a sad season for 19-year-old Katrina Fisher. It seemed like a string of bad things had happened to her. First she got bad grades and got in big trouble, then her cat died. But also her best friend since Kindergarten, Melanie Cortes, has passed away as well. It had been a week after the funeral and Katrina felt she would be strong enough to place some flowers as respect at her friend's grave.
Rain was pouring outside and it was windy but it wouldn't stop Katrina from doing what she had to do. She put on her rain coat and took a bouquet of flowers with a small card on it then drove off to the cemetery.
She walked up to her friends grave, a tear shed down her eyes then a few more and soon she was crying heavily. She read the incscription, "Melanie Nicole Cortes: Beloved Daughter. Born May 13, 1980, Died December 15, 1999." Katrina stared at the grave then placed her gift of respect. She sat beside the grave for a moment thinking of the good and bad times they had had. Melanie was another victim of cancer, it was a sad way to end such a young life. Soon she saw a figure walking towards her, it was a guy. He wasn't like most guys for his hair was bright red and he had on blue contacts. And here is was foggy, windy, and cold and the crazy ************ had on sunglasses. Katrina looked up.
"Are you alright? I realized you had been sitting her for awhile. That would be normal on a bright sunny dry day, but today it was kinda strange." the guy asked.
"I'm okay. If you wanna know strange look at you, it's foggy and you're wearing sunglasses." Katrina replied. The guy laughed.
"You've been crying, it doesn't look like you're okay." He replied.
"Yes, because I'm not. This is my friend's grave. We've known each other since Kindergarten and now she's gone cuz of cancer, you would expect me to be this way." Katrina replied.
"I'm sorry if I bothered you, really, I'll leave." He replied then started to walk off.
"Oh please stay, I need some company!" Katrina shouted at him, he turned around and smiled then took off his sunglasses. "My name's Aj, you?"
"Katrina." Katrina replied then shook his hand. He sat down beside her, "This grass is wet!"
"No sh*t Sherlock!" Katrina teased.
"Then why are you sitting on it, Sherlock?" AJ replied.
"Cuz Ima jackbutt!" Katrina replied.
"You know..." AJ started, "I haven't known you that long but I think something may be wrong with you."
"Well you know me well." Katrina replied, "I have one question for you."
"Shoot." AJ replied.
"Why are you here any ways?" Katrina questioned.
"Well I was walking around the park, stupid I know, but hey I don't gotta life sometimes. And well I saw you sitting here by this grave and thought, there's someone just like me! Ima go talk to them. So I came here." AJ explained making Katrina laugh.
"You're funny." Katrina remarked.
"Thanks, I know." AJ replied.
"I mean first I realize the bright red hair and the blue contacts, then I realize you have sunglasses on. I never thought I'de ever meet somebody like you. Not that you're like an alien or something, but you know." Katrina explained.
"I know." AJ replied, "Hey, you wanna go to McDonald's or something cuz my a** is wet and it's cold."
"Sure." Katrina replied. After that they both got up off the wet ground and wiped off their bums then left to the nearest McDonald's, walking the whole way like stupid idiots.
