Chapter 7: Go away Charizard!

Cars honked, rushing by throwing great clouds of water over the sidewalks. Draco was bewildered by the sudden change of scenery. Ace watched stumped as several pedestrians stared at the sight of a trainer on his pokémon with two people clinging to the dragon's legs.

Draco lowered to the ground allowing Nero and Laura to get off gently. He swung his head around. Draco hit someone with his cheek. Backing away and apologizing Draco had a sheepish grin. Ace apologized to the man for Draco's clumsiness.

“Apologize this yuh fucking jerk!” The guy flipped him off!

Ace was ready to go bust his face in! Nero and Laura grabbed him by the shoulders. Draco wished his clumsy ways would just go away. He sighed and thought to himself he had to be more careful.

“Come on Ace! Think! We just got here, this isn’t worth it!” Laura whispered, it calmed him. He stopped trying to get loose.

He just glared and growled as the jerk moved out of sight. Ace straightened out his shirt and dusted his shoulders. He fixed his hat and began to act as if nothing had just happened. He let it go. They were right, it wasn’t worth it.

"Draco watch what you're doing." Ace whispered.

"So what are we supposed to do now?" Nero asked with a huge smile on.

"We! You aren't supposed to be here! Me and Draco are going to be doing all the work! You go find some hotel or something and phone me when you do!" Ace made Nero cower behind Laura.

"Lay off him Ace! It was my idea!" She shoved him.

"We'll have a talk about this later then." Ace grunted. "Draco let's go see where we are."

Draco hated cities. He was always bumping into something, smashing things underfoot, and everyone had an attitude problem. Ace got cussed out because Draco stepped on a poodle's foot. The lady was lucky he had been stepping lightly otherwise he would have crushed the damn dog's foot completely.

"Hey! Do you have a pokémon license on that char!" An Officer Jenny ran toward Ace.

"What?" Ace looked at Draco.

"Where is his collar and tags!" She pulled out a notebook from her pocket.

"What for? I mean what tags are you referring to?" Ace had a headache.

"The ones he is supposed to wear if you want him out on the streets of Poké City."

"I'm sorry, not around from here." Ace looked over at Draco.

"Where are you from?" She was rather rude.

"Emerald." Ace faced her again.

"With your city's loose standards it's no surprise there are so many pokémon attacks there!" She began to write.

"Well we Emeralds' have more respect for our monsters. Why degrade them with collars and tags." Ace gave her a sharp look, she returned the heated look.

"You have three days to get him tagged and collared!" She shoved a ticket into his hands.

She lifted something out of her pocket. A camera of sorts. She pushed a button and a light flashed across Draco.

"What are you doing!" Ace wrenched the device from her grasp.

"Give me that!" She snatched the device back. "You are interfering with a DNA scan!"

"What for!" Ace snarled.

"Charizards are dangerous! Since the incident in Crimson we have to DNA scan all chars! Now if you don't mind take this too!" Another ticket went into Ace's palm.

"Have a great day." She sarcastically smiled.

"Screw you!" Ace shot her the finger before he set off with Draco.

"Great two minutes in this place and we made some new friends!" He tossed the tickets away. "We have three days!"

The two laughed, Ace felt better until he found a lot of public places banned chars. Ace needed to go into a library to research Draco's family. He also realized he had no idea what Draco's lineage was.

"Fushigibana? Who are Draco's parents?" Ace held the miracle seed.

A name came to Draco. He's eyes flew open. He shook Ace. He knew Fushigibana sent him the name. Ace opened his eyes and gave Draco an odd glance.

"Chivonne?" They said in unison.

Why was he doing all this? Draco kept thinking, they hadn't worried about him! Had they? Draco realized they were separated in time by a thousand or two thousand years.

"Ace! I've seen the crystals before!" Draco recalled the dream of a man with the crystals. "I remember some guy with a bad goatee using them."

"So things are falling into place." Ace knew his parent's paid a huge sum for the green eyed charmander. "Then the guys who robbed Pryce for the crystals had to be the same ones who took you."

"So now we know this what do we do with it?" Draco scratched his chin.

"Well we could try to figure it out later, let's keep onto our prime mission. So your Mother is named Chivonne."

"Chivonne? A lovely name." Draco remembered a golden female feeding him, that had to be his mother. "I was only a few months old when I was stolen. I wish I knew more about them."

"Well Drac you have the chance now." Ace patted his shoulder.

"You're not allowed in here!" An Aracanine sneered at Draco.

"Why not!" Ace locked eyes with the cattish dog.

"All libraries ban Chars from entering!" He spat at Ace.

"We need to research his family line if you don't mind he will be extra careful." Ace found the dog booting them out onto the sidewalk.

"All right. I'm sorry Draco I'll have to pokéball you." He tossed the ball at Draco.

It bounced off and rolled around on the cement. Ace stood staring. He retrieved it and threw it again, it sprang off Draco's chest and spun wildly on the floor. Draco raised an eyebrow. Ace grabbed the ultraball and examined it.

"It looks fine to me." Ace shrugged as he pushed the return button, no laser beam sprang from it. "What the hell!"

“Poor crazy fool.” A man walked on by shaking his head at Ace.

Ace raised an eyebrow. Why were people looking at him as if he was crazy? They acted like they never saw a man trying to recall his pokémon. He pulled off his shades and looked about. He was getting several odd looks.

“Let’s go Draco.” This place was giving him the creeps by the second.

Ace was thinking as he stared at the Ultra ball in his hand. Why would pokéballs stop working in the future? Ace had no choice but, to hide Draco in a back alley. As he entered the library Ace decided to research the pokéball problem too.

"Okay, one listing on a Chivonne. Let's see she is owned by a one Sidney Torot." The picture loaded and Ace saw a silver dragon appear, great the wrong Chivonne.

So he was out of luck. Then Ace decided to ask the Lickatung who was shelving books. He tapped her shoulder.

"Excuse me, do you know where I could find some information on finding a pokémon who fought around here?" She looked confused at him.

"Sorry I don't speak human." She said in pokémon.

"Well I understand pokémon." Ace asked his question in her language.

"Okay so you have the name. What year?" She asked.

"Three thousand five hundred around that year."

"Oh, yes I forget humans still use their system of time as before the war. To pokémon that is after the war." Ace wanted to ask what war but, that would really show he wasn't around from here.

"This is the disk you need. Though I don't see why you would expect to find a pokémon from five thousand years ago." Ace looked at her, had she just said five thousand? Nero and Laura did throw them off course. Ace felt his brain throb, he would have to use the crystals to back up in time.

"Well she was a charizard." He knew Jesus once told him chars live only one or two thousand years.

"Well, then she could still be alive then. Chars live to be six sometimes seven thousand years old." She smiled at him.

"Okay again one listed Chivonne, lived near Gloomleaf. Owned by August Kasp...."

"Hey you get out of here trouble maker!" The Aracanine tossed out Ace.

"Hey I followed the rules!" Ace dusted himself off. "I left my charizard outside!"

"Get lost!" It barked at him.

"Loser!" Ace went to find Draco.

He found Draco talking with a pidgey. Ace was curious to find this Gloomleaf. Draco was eager to hear any information Ace discovered.

"So that asshole threw you out before you finished opening the file." Draco grumbled.

"Well we find Gloomleaf now." Ace heard his pokegear ring. "Ace."

"Hey Ace we can't find a hotel that allows charizards." Nero reported.

"Well meet me at the train station, we are going to head toward a place called Gloomleaf." Ace gave them directions to the station before he put his gear away.

"We gotta cross the street and wait at the station for the others." Ace and Draco waited an hour before Laura and Nero strode in.

"The ticket guy says Taupe Town is the closest place near Gloomleaf we can ride to. Oh, and no chars allowed on the train." Nero sat next to Draco.

"Damn it! What is it that you jerks have against charizards!" Ace punched the window making the vendor scramble toward the back of the booth.

"No problem, Ace all we have to do is follow the train's route right into Gloomleaf. From the map it'll take a few days but, we can do it." Laura pulled him away from the booth.

"Do we have a few days though? The rift is closing every second." Ace hated this, the damn train was a magnet version which would carry them in hours to Taupe. "Wait! We could follow the route a lot faster and easier!"

"How?" Nero followed them outside.

"You'll see!" Ace laughed.
