Chapter 12: Sorrow Is a Lonely Feeling.

Emerald Earth’s Past:

Amid the fog and confusion she walked. It was a bit chilly so she let her tail flame burn a little higher than usual. The atmosphere of Sarno City was amazing. The feel of it as well. She had begun to drawn out of her depression.

Sarno, the citizens walked about their business, some stopped to ponder the sight of a char walking the streets searching. Cole turned about facing away from them when a few comments on her looks were made. She fought the water in her eyes to not spill out over her cheeks. Why had she come here? She didn’t understand why she came here looking for Draco.

Did she love him? She couldn’t answer. She could only honestly answer she felt a deep sorrow for what she told him, for the way she treated him and for losing him. He tired of her and fled.

A couple of British chaps asked one another if the char belonged to anyone. A few trainers began digging out pokéballs. Charcole reared about snarling let a few warning embers spark at them. They quickly changed their minds. She snorted in a snobby way as she continued her way towards the local gyms. In Sarno City she figured she would find Ace and Draco fighting in one of the gyms. Competition was in their veins.

Emerald Earth’s Future:

Draco was amazed at the assortment of herbs, flowers and roots that laid scattered about the earthen hut. Some were enticing, others repulsive while the last herbs had no smell.

"This is amazing Talo, you work these miracles with nothing more than roots and moss." Draco lifted the wonderful smelling moss. "I still live because of this stuff."

"Can you whip up some kinda love potion with this crap?" Cynder asked Talo.

"Watch your language!" Drow was embarrassed by Cynder's behavior.

"We should get going." Draco remembered the others.

"Yes, Ace will worry soon." Drowxena added.

"Thank you Talo." Draco felt strange, as if he had been in this hut before.

“You are very welcome charizard.” He smiled at the dragon.

He could smell the scent of other chars being in this room. He couldn't shake the sense of deja vu. Chad had been here, as well as his mother. He took in deep of her scent, he longed for his family’s love. There had been four other chars here too. Two brothers, two sisters, he kept sniffing recording their scent within his mind. Who were they? How old were they? He had to sit to clear the pain from his mind. As he sat something registered, his memories seeped in.

"I was hatched here! The world was so large to me then though. Those herbs I could smell them. These shelves seemed so tall. And..." Draco sat near the back. "This is the spot were I hatched from."

"He's flipping out!" Cynder whispered to Drow.

"How could you know this? These are only things the Vileplume, Chad, Chivonne and their son.....would know." Talo eyed the youth. "You have green eyes. Unusual for a charizard. My father spoke of a green eyed charmander born to Chivonne and Chad. You look only three hundred you can't be their son. For two thousand years those two have not given up the search for him."

Draco was shocked, they had been searching for him. Two thousand years? That was the love of parents. He was ashamed of the foul things he said of them all his thirty years. He felt his legs buckle again. They truly did love him.

He peered out seeing Chivonne comforting Chad. He looked depressed. He had an air of sincerity as he explained to her he didn't intend to cut so deeply into the kid's side. He was just trying to scare him.

He slowly exited the building. Talo stopped him. Draco shook his head, made some comments and asked some questions before he greeted his parents. He heard the apologizes and forgave them. He introduced himself and his friends as tourists visiting Gloomleaf. As they made their way back to camp Cynder was pondering on something he couldn't keep bottled any longer. He halted the group.

"Draco why didn't you tell them?" He asked.

"Talo wanted me to but, I couldn't." He grew silent.

"Why not!"

"How would you feel if you found out you almost killed your own son?"

"You're right." Cynder thought on something else. "What do we do now?"

"Ace goes to Taupe Town. We need to find out where a place named Chah Island is located. This started there and I have a feeling it'll end there."

"Ace is coming? He trailed us with little Yana." Drowxena spoke.

Above them something watched as well. Tracking their every move since Poké City. It watched as Ace meet his pokémon and worried over Draco. It teleported back toward the camp.
