pokemon red and blue
Pokemon Red and Blue, the first Pokemon games I ever played.... okay, enough reminscing, on to the point of the page. Here I will provide you with information on the game. However, I haven't and wont write out a complete walkthrough, you'll have to go to a different web site or a magazine for that. But I do, however, have basic information on the games here. ^.~ Enjoy!
Pokemon Red and Blue are the oldest Pokemon games. They are basically the same;the only way in which they are different is that you can only catch certain Pokemon in each one. You play the game as Ash Ketchum, a boy from Pallet Town. You can, however, change his name to anything you like. You can also name your rival, whose name is Gary, but again, that doesn't have to be his name. Once you have gone through all this with Professor Oak, you will find yourself in your room, where you begin the game. To go any further you have to try heading out of Pallet Town so Professor Oak will stop you, and then take you to his lab, where you will be joined with your rival, each to get your first Pokemon! You have a choice between a Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle. Which one works best? Well, I recommend the Bulbasaur. That's the one I picked, and it will take out the first two gym leaders, Brock and Misty, who use rock and water type Pokemon, both of which are vulnerable to the grass type, which is Bulbasaur's type(well, Bulbasaur is also half of the poison type as well). But it is really up to you. Charmander can easily get beaten by Brock and Misty's Pokemon, but if you get pass them, Charmander will be a great Pokemon, evolving into the powerful Charizard later on. Squirtle can probably take out Brock's Pokemon once you learn it some water-type attacks, but it's no telling how well it'd do at Misty's gym. The choice is your's;choose wisely! Once you do, your rival will choose his Pokemon, which will be the type that is strong against your's(ex.If you pick Bulbasaur, he'll pick Charmander. If you pick Charmander, he'll pick Squirtle. If you pick Squirtle, he'll pick Bulbasaur.) and then you'll have to battle him. It's a good thing that neither of your Pokemon know their type's attacks yet, or you'd be in big trouble! He should be no problem. Just give it your best shot. You'll have to go through the rest of your journey on your own or get a magazine or something, because I'm not offering a complete walkthrough here. However, I will tell you what you're up against;the first gym leader is in Pewter City, whose name is Brock, who uses the rock-type and offers the Boulderbadge;the second gym leader is in Cerulean City, whose name is Misty, who uses the water-type and offers the Cascadebadge;the third gym leader is in Vermilion City, whose name is LT.Surge, who uses the electric-type and offers the Thunderbadge;the fourth gym leader is in Celadon City, whose name is Erika, who uses the grass-type and offers the Rainbowbadge;the fifth gym leader is in Saffron City, whose name is Sabrina, who uses the psychic-type and offers the Marshbadge;the sixth gym leader is in Fuschia City, whose name is Koga, who uses the poison-type and offers the Soulbadge;the seventh gym leader is on Cinnabar Island, whose name is Blaine, who uses the fire-type and offers the Volcanobadge;and last, but not least, the eighth gym leader is in Viridian City, whose name is Giovanni, who uses the ground-type and offers the Earthbadge. And after all that, you've got to fight in the Pokemon League, which is pretty tough, considering you also have to fight your rival at the end, but it's well worth it as you will have beaten the game and you will get to go in Unknown Dungeon, where Mewtwo awaits you!
