Macy's Thanksgiving Day
Parade!!!
(Day 3 ~ THE PARADE!!!)
Okay
so we hauled ourselves out of bed after getting maybe 3 hours of sleep, dragged
all our stuff onto the buses, and then half-slept on the way to Herald Square.
The actual run through itself was a blur! :-P Doing a marching routine at 3 AM
was not something many of us were really used to. But I'll admit, it was a lil
exciting running through our routine in the heart of the City, with NBC cameras
all around us. After the run through, we still had until 7 AM before we needed
to go back outside, so we all piled back into the buses. Well actually, one of
the buses had to go back to pick up some of our parents (who were still
sleeping soundly back at the hotel, might I add), which meant that the people in
that bus had to squeeze into the others. We had several twirlers on our bus who
had to sleep on the floor (one of whom almost got stepped on, on the face
because of it).

Finally,
after many attempts at going to sleep on the bus, it was finally 7 AM and we
all started putting on our uniforms (with layers upon LAYERS underneath)! I
could hardly FIT into mine, with everything I had on in addition. I was
literally having trouble moving my arms and legs!!! And you know what, I was
STILL FREEZING when I got outside!!! :-P

But
it was an absolutely spectacular experience being able to march in this parade!
Despite everything, I truly enjoyed it! Here's an overhead view of our
performance for National Television below!

After
the parade, we came back and had ourselves a well deserved rest! Then it was
time for the long awaited Band Banquet for thanksgiving dinner! Here's me with
Lisa (my date), my dawg Nato, and Flute Mike.

We
had a pretty decent Thanksgiving Dinner that evening. Not quite the same as
Thanksgiving at home (my dad cooks the AWESOMEST turkey you have EVER
tasted!!!!), but there was LOTS OF IT, and that was JUST FINE FOR ME!!!! MWA HA
HA!!!!!!!

Here's a couple group pics
of the clarinets! Gosh, Nate! You stick out like a sore thumb!!!

The
1st year Marchers earn themselves their Maryland "M", while
the 4th year marchers finally receive their long awaited leather
jackets! Those things are DEFINITELY worth marching four year for! I'm HALFWAY
THERE, BABY!!!!!!

This
is Liz! She's so silly! Meanwhile, the ladies do a lil Charlie's Angel pose.
(Even though Lisa told them not to all point in the same direction!!! :-P)

But
wait! The night was STILL YOUNG!!!
