Sitting around the table AJ looks around at everyone as they eat, "Hey fellas...I got an idea." "What?"Howie said swallowing a piece of bread. "Why don't we all sleep in that old house next door. I mean, like the story Nick told us, it's supposed to be haunted." "I don't know man. That doesn't sound too good." Brian said. "Oh come on it'll be fun. Nick?" AJ looked over at Nick. "I'm for it, Come on Bri." "Ok I'll sleep over there but Howie and Kev have to too."Brian said drinking some coke. They all looked at Howie waiting, "Alright I'll go too." Howie answered. "Kev?You in?" AJ asked? "Mmm I guess." Kevin said. "Alright!!" AJ cheered. As they all got up AJ looked around at the other guys. "Everybody has to be there by midnight. And nodbody can leave." Howie rolled his eyes, "This is so stupid."
"Damn it's cold in here. I can't find any heat." AJ said walking in the living room. "It's an old abandoned house what do you expect J?" Nick said. "We could build a fire." Kevin suggested. "Yeah but who's getting the wood?" Brian asked. Everyone looked at each other. Soon everyone's gaze fell on howie."Oh no you guys. I didn't even wanna come." "Come on Howie." "Howie!" "D!" "Four against one you got to!" Howie stood up,"No way. I'm going back to the WARM house."
And with that...Howie left.
"Damn D." AJ said shaking his head. "Fine I guess I'll go" Kevin said putting his jacket back on. "There's an old shed outside. Maybe I can find an axe or something." Kevin walked outside. Brian stood up,"I'm gonna take a look around." Nick stood with him,"I'll go with you Maybe we can find Sara." They both walked off.
"Uh, I'll just ....stay here....cold....and alone...Damnit!" AJ said. "Where the hell are all the fine women when you need them?"
Howie walked back into his room taking his jacket off, "Ah heat, I can't believe I even thought about staying over there." He turned on the lamp by his bed and grabbed a magazine then walked over and opened the vents up a little more letting more heat in. "Ahh much better." Howie smiled and layed down on the bed flipping through the magazine. Trying to concentrate on the words. He turned his head thinking he'd heard a noise outside his door, "AJ? Is that you?"
Nothing...
"Oh well..." Howie said and went back to reading his magazine. He then heard another noise sounding like it came from outside his room,"AJ dude you come back early too? Having problems with you room?"
Again...Nothing...
Howie shook his head, "I must be hearing things." He got up and walked over to his door and opened it. Looking out he didn't see anything so he closed the door and layed back down. After finishing his magazine Howie turned out the lamp and closed his eyes..
Howie didn't hear his door open....he didn't hear anything coming to his bed...He didn't know the stranger was there until he saw them standing before him. Raising his arm, Howie already knew it was too late.
