But now, now he was alone in his room. Alone in the dark.

Nick turned on the lamp next to his bed and then got up and made sure every door was closed. He then made sure his hotel room door was locked and dead bolted, even though he had done so when he came in.

Once Nick had the room lit enough so he could see any space near him, he turned on the tv laying down in bed. Flipping through the channels, Nick settled on a movie just starting. One about a couple who moved into a house that people had been murdered in by their neighbor. The neighbor was now trying to kill them. Nick watched the neighbor kidnap the couples dog. Then kill it when the wife heard the dog barking in his basement.

The neighbor was a doctor. The wife became pregnant and he was her doctor. He prescribed some vitamins to keep her and the baby healthy but all they did was make her sick. He prescribed the right vitamins but snuck into the house while the couple was sleeping and replaced them with poisoned ones. She started suspecting he was poisoning her. She had another doctor check them but the results came out fine. She believed he tampered with the test. She told her husband and doctors and the police but they all believed she was stressed and over reacting. She went to the pharmacy and found some of the same vitamins. She opened the pill bottle checking them with hers. The pill capsules looked identical but when she took apart the pills and poured the powder out, she saw that the powders were different colors. The doctor at the pharmacy checked hers with theirs and saw that they were poison. The woman went to the library and did research on her neighbor. She found out that there had been some sort of accident that he was involved in and everyone but him died.

Nick started to feel uncomfortable watching the movie. He got up and grabbed his bag from the store and walked into the bathroom. He took the contents out of the bag and put them on the counter. Grabbing the toothpaste, he found his toothbrush next to the sink and started brushing his teeth. When he was done he started to walk out but the vitamin bottle caught his eye. Nick walked back over to the counter and picked up the bottle.

The neighbor tried to kill that woman by mixing the vitamins. What if...just what if someone who worked at the factory that made these vitamins was fucked up and decided to poison them. If not all just one bottle of vitamins. And what if...I'm the one who got that bottle? What if I get poisoned because of him? What if?

Nick tossed the bottle of vitamins into the trash can. There was no way he could take them now.

Nick layed down in bed. Closing his eyes he started to panic. He felt like he couldn't breathe.

What if I die in my sleep? What if I fall asleep and never wake up? How will everything get done? I don't want to die! There's so much I still want to do. I haven't gone this far to die in my sleep! I don't want to die. God help me. Please dont let me die in my sleep.

Nick started to cry. He was really scared he was going to die in his sleep. The thoughts kept him awake for several hours. Finally, Nick drifted off with tear stains on his cheeks.
