Chapter 8

"It speaks to you Nickolas" Nick jumped when he heard a voice. He looked up, Wren was standing in front of the bed. "What?"

Wren smiled, "It speaks to you. That's why it knows your thoughts, your feelings. It is intune with you because it was meant for you. This book, Nickolas, was written for you."

Nick looked confused,"For me? But this book is so old. How could it be for me?"

"They knew Nick. They knew one day you would come. They knew no one but you would they be able to reach. Only you have that power."

"What power?" Nick asked. "The power to reach. To reach anyone and anything. They knew a day would come when properties would have be set right. When time had to be moved." Wren said sitting on the bed near him. "I don't.."

"Shhh you don't have to understand right now. The time will come." Wren whispered. She moved quick. She was almost on top of him she was so close.

"But I.."

"Shhhh" Wren's lips brushed against his. At any other time if he had felt a hotness on their lips he would have thought it was passion. But not this time, he knew it was her. Before he could think anymore or pull away if he had wanted to, Wren hungrily kissed him. With such force, her lips pushed into his. He could taste her need. He could feel sparks flicker from each of their lips.

Wren continued to kiss Nick, each kiss harder than the one before. Nick opened his eyes when she bit his bottom lip. He could taste blood in his mouth. "Wren, you.." He was cut off by another kiss. "Wren you..." Another hard kiss. "Wren you bit...you...bit me" As soon as Nick said this, Wren bit his bottom lip harder. Crying out in pain Nick pulled back from her only to be pulled back. Wren forcefully pushing her lips against his. "Wren!" Nick pulled away again to see Wren with blood smeared on her lips and around her mouth. She was breathing heavily, as was he but something was different about her.

She looked like a wild animal. Angry. As if someone had interrupted her from her dinner, her feast which had been Nick. Wren's fists were clentched tightly. Nick looked into her eyes and saw the danger in them. Wren was not human. No human could have that look in their eyes.

Nick swallowed and licked his lips and Wren moved forward towards him. As if she were about to attack his lips again. "Wren, I think you should leave." Wren laughed quietly,"No. I want to stay."

"Wren get out."

A smile broke across her lips,"No."

"Wren get the fuck out! I want nothing to do with you or this damn book!" Nick was now completely angry at her. He picked up the book and threw it at her only to watch it stop before her chest and fly back at him crashing onto the bed.

Nick's eyes widened,"What the fuck did you just do?!" Wren crossed her arms, now looking human again. Now looking helpless. The fake bitch, Nick thought. "I didn't do anything Nick. It was the book. It was YOU who did it. Not me."

Nick shook his head,"No way. I threw the book at you. How did you make it come back to me?" Wren sighed,"I said, you did it. It's the connection the power you have with the book. No one can touch it but you. Now that it is in your posession."

Nick swallowed, still tasting the blood in his mouth,"I want you to leave now." Wren crossed the room smoothly and reached for him but he turned his back to her. Wren leaned forward towards Nick's ear and whispered,"Fine, but you can not escape. It will always be here. We will always be here. You might as well give in and understand it. There's no stopping us. And, there will be no stopping you."

Nick turned to look at her to argue, but she was already gone.
