The world was bright
All lived in light and no-one was wanting
The stars shone forth
And all was with peace
The questioner came
He saw the stars, the light, the sun
And asked why?
And people fell to his feet
The questioner conquered
He made those who fell to his feet
His sacred, his Sabbath
And those that did not were enemies
Hate entered the world
And the questioner despised all the more
Those that rejected him
Those that chose to live in light
He cast shadows
Upon his sacred, his Sabbath
Forever cursed, forever dark
Forever lamenting, those of the Nocturne
And the children of the light
Chose a hero from among their number
A man from the highest
He was the Forever Nothing
The questioner consumed by rage
Beheld the beauty of Forever Nothing
And he wanted the beauty for himself
Until desire consumed him.
Jealousy entered the world
And those of the light
Mourned the loss of their brothers
Until resolute they stood, firm against the tide
And the sounds of night
Began to seep over the light
Unstoppable tide as it was
Never retreating
War entered the world
And took from their grasp the hope of reconciliation
And Forever Nothing
Wept wretchedly for he had lost
One hope remained
The questioner made bold by war
Stepped unto the light
And the Forever Nothing turned
They gazed upon each others countenances
Two halves of a single destiny
And never heard before words
Passed between them
Brothers in light and darkness
Forced to fight by purpose
Forever Nothing, The questioner
Both destroyed
Doubt entered the world
The forces of light
The forces of the Nocturne
Both lost their purpose
Fight they did
Across the voids of light and dark
The night and day
Always in contention
Until, weary at the last
They retired back
To lost cities and sunken hollows
And plotted against their other half.
So ends the First Chapter
