Solitary Confinement
He came to this foreign land
For higher education
And helped build his uncle's business
But wasn't paid
The second uncle's a millionaire
Both abused and abandoned him
Women and cash are their preoccupations
He's all alone, far from family and home
Heartbroken and ailing on minimum wage
His trust and faith were broken too
Got a degree but no Green Card
Could not go back when his father died
No care giver, no mentor
No friend, no insurance
He hungers to hear a kind word
One day, a woman on the street
Asks for a ride
Then reveals she's for sale,
Reciting the menu and the prices
He asks sadly: "I'm not looking for sex,
How much for just a hug?"
She's baffled: "That's an unusual request,
I don't sell hugs"
He kicks her out of the car
