There once was a time
when the British had us bound in chains
With decades of persistent struggle
We were free to raise our own flag

The nation has become independent
Now let's focus on our individual selves
We need to free our souls
From all the limitations we put on them

We need to break the chains that bind us
A new nation was born after great sacrifices
The young nation needs to develop a self-identity
We are not yet mature

We need to develop qualities of independence
From the British and American choke hold
And to Unite and connect
With each other to make us powerful
