Q: Divorce Kills
Children?
F: Going back to square one, the question is why
should a person
get married. The pragmatic approach as it's becoming clearer to me
now, is that one should get married with the PURPOSE of raising
children in a healthy family environment so that we can do our
little part in making the world a better place.
Q: Marriage is only for procreation?
F: Though
compatibility between the man and woman is very
important, yet the highest priority is what's in the best interest of
the child
Q: What if the child suffers because of marital
problems?
F: It is
extremely important that both partners work at the marriage.
A child would prefer that both parents died, rather than get
divorced.
A marriage must be worked upon to provide a secure
and healthy
environment. If you have a marriage of convenience, well actually,
it's not really a marriage…more like two people living together,
sleeping in separate rooms, eating at different times, spending
evenings and weekends doing different things, etc. That wouldn't
be a good atmosphere to bring kids into. You better get your stuff
together first.
We are becoming much more
desensitized to divorce. The idea is
to work on the relationship to make it good, to make it last, from
the first day. So that every day the foundation is continually built
and made stronger. So that when something goes wrong, instead of
the whole thing crumbling, there's a lot of solid and positive history
to fall back on, so that the couple doesn't dwell on the negative and
moves on, knowing the relationship is good.
