It has been four lonely years since you have been gone.
Yet the ones that love you know your memory lives on.
We knew you as Dad, Grandpa, Big Papa, Jr. and “Hickory Bill.”
The Lord blessed us with a lifetime of memories to fill.
We miss your friendship, laughter, hugs and humor the most.
We will always remember you as the best Saturday evening host.
You blessed many lives in so many ways,
If only the Lord had blessed us with your presence a few more days.
There has been another great-grandchild born that you will not know,
But he will be reminded why he was named William as he grows.
Your memory will live on forever more,
Yet we all know we will see you again when we are called to knock upon heaven’s door.
