Fall In Our Village
We are getting ready
for the fall harvest
That's when we all work hard.
Woman pick the
wild vegetables and
berries that we can find.
Our Braves will be going
out to hunt for deer and buffalo.
the meat we will need
for the winter months.
We use every part
the skin for clothes & blankets
the bones for tools.
We still have a lot of work to do
Fall goes by so fast
We have to get ready
to move our village.
To our new winter place
Winter's the hardest
months for us.
Mother nature provides
all our needs to live
we respect her warnings
and takes what she gives
when the summer heat is gone
and cold winds come
we accept the change.
By prepared work we have done
the great spirit has
taught us our ways
we follow mother earth's
changes day by day
Our provider we pray to each day
and may the great spirit
help you also along your way..
