Never ending passages of space and time and reason
Upper-crusted under cuts truly in all seasons
Coffee houses for the chosen few
This is what I should think of you
And those of us lucky enough at your feet
Hoping you might drop a morsel or maybe two
Bathed in your limelight
Oh, yes, we should follow through
One another's empty-headed dreams
Would seem your only oppostition
And well-built walls of dynasties
Are only an admition
That hate-filled hearts are ripped apart
With hatred's ammunition
Brilliantly thought, it has all played out
Though you could have at least tried to hide your doubt
I'd have been a little more creative if I were you
Perhaps at least have feigned virtue
And told the others to seem saddened too
As we all watched the end draw near
But you have fit the bill but good
You gave me life then took it away
And all has happened as you thought it should
I have withstood your assaults on my world each day
So I should give up now and forfeit the game
And admit my failure and for my sins, pay
But the slightest of hopes to see you all go down in flames
Somehow makes it bearable and for this--this alone I WILL STAY
