In My View
I think poems that rhyme are best,
'cos, after all, they've stood the test.
I've tried my hand at 'Modern Verse',
and finished up with 'Trash', or worse!
It isn't everyone one, you know,
can write with rhythm and with flow,
And then contrive to entertain
both Sage's thoughts, and Peasant's brain.
Free Verse, you know, is really Prose,
and only dabbled in by those
Who feign some knowledge, most replete,
or like to think they are Elite.
Of course, the fairer sex succeed
far better than the 'macho' breed,
Who simply juggle words around,
oblivious of how they sound.
The Laurel Crown should surely now
be placed upon a Female brow.
Unfortunate for Men, it's true,
but lovely if it's me, or you !!
