With Forests and Starlight

"With Forests and Starlight"

I lay with you under the starlit sky
Hand in hand pondering on our glowing state

Watching the twinkle of the heavens
In your eyes as you smile alive

I draw you in as the thunder rumbles
In the distant sky coming so quickly from miles away

I can feel the cool summer air pick up
Surrounding us on all sides now

Our hearts keep time with the patter of the raindrops
On the leaves like a musicians fingers dancing on the ivory keys

I stole your breath once, twice, three times
For now and for life as your fingers feel through my hair

I caress your every movement
As you pull me back inside

The wind whispers to me now showing
Me the way to answer your call

Be it as it may that this was all only one day
So secluded while lying amongst the giants

Who would have ever known your mind
And my heart, never did I

Laying you down on the cool soft moss
And holding your lips pressed against mine

Take me away from me with you sometime
I’ll realize divinity can actually be divine

And erase all of the shadows from the grave
Follow me into the chambers without the candlelit eyes

And wrap me up with the serenity
Which finds us lost in hopeless bliss
So far from home and so far from mind
