Anyone who is not familiar with
Haiku, an ancient Japanese form of poetry,
may be confused by it's lack of rhyme and apparent meter
but it is comprised of three lines, seventeen syllables in a
5 syllables
7 syllables
5 syllables pattern or meter.
This is my one and only (so far) Haiku.
Tortured soul within
Silently screaming at life
Guilt and pain can't speak
