This poem is dedicated to Dr. Jane Middleton. She was
the Department of Social Work Chair and is now
venturing into the world of retirement. We wish her all
the best as she ventures into this new journey.

Listen to the echoes of our voices
as we speak words that come from the heart,
Listen to the loving memories we must tell you
for the memories were gathered, right from the start…
When you look around you
and see what this day is all about,
You’ll see people that admire & treasure you
and never once, did they have a doubt…
Your smiles radiate sunshine
you never hesitate to go the extra mile,
Your heart is filled with golden treasures
and your eyes sparkle when you smile…
You’ve shared so much of yourself
you’ve given us so many wonderful years,
You’ve allowed us to walk this journey with you
through laughter, smiles, and sometimes, even tears…
Your journey with us has been very inspirational
it’s given us a path we will look forward to,
You’ve given us such wonderful memories
for it is your wisdom, that we have shared with you…
How do we repay you Jane
for showing us how social work should always be,
