Anna From Essen

the Mount Warning carpark

first words smiling by a Rosewood

climbing countless steps

feet crushing purple fruit

shadows of palm and heat

bike shorts in front of me

white with swirls of green

teenage curves of aching beauty

talking of Essen and a Lyrebird

boom and echo of pigeons

her pinching kiss at the summit

a towel round her neck

the motel shower

those dancing breasts reach for me

a sweet musk between her legs

handfuls of rump, her tender squealing

Crew-cut blonde asleep at dawn

the backpack strapped tight

addresses exchanged, a flower gift

rain pouring on the bus shelter

returning to the winter of Essen
