POETRY GUIDELINES:

If you wish to share your poems on the Internet then you can do so!
If you visit http://www.poetry.com then you can register as one of their
3 million poets worldwide just like I have done… You can submit your
work online eg maximum 70 characters per line, maximum 20 lines…
They have regular submissions for competitions and you can send extra
poems if you wish… these can also be used by their website as part of
their free email greetings messages… Your poem could really make a
difference, so why not check out http://www.poetry.com where you can
search for a poet eg Surname: Martindale… Christian name: Denis…
The website has lots of love poems and some famous poems, too…
Literally, something for everyone… The good thing is you can login and
edit your poems online… There is no charge for publication yet you can
order the anthology if your poem is accepted for worldwide publication.

If you wish to deal with one of the UK’s leading poetry publishers then
try http://www.forwardpress.co.uk as Chris Gutteridge and I did! Usually,
poems are accepted up to a maximum of 30 lines with 65 - 70 characters
maximum per line. Write to Forward Press, Remus House, Coltsfoot Drive,
Woodston, Peterborough and request current and future themes for their
anthologies so you can submit your work… otherwise send two general
poems each month and maybe you’ll be a published poet, too… You still
retain copyright approval of your work, yet you will be sent a form to ask
for copyright permission to use your original work and you should keep
a copy of your email submission to compare with their typeset copy…
You need to check every single character, word, phrase, punctuation, etc.
When you approve a poem you do not need to buy the anthology itself,
but it is wonderful to see your work in print! That’s how I found the poem
by Chris Gutteridge next to one of my prizewinning poems in the 1999/2000
Top 100 Poets Competition anthology! It was kind of him to grant me his
permission to use the PRINCE poem…

This poem is about the beauty of a horse called PRINCE…
I have © permission to use this on my tripod website:
