Consider the Cross

The cross that you carry in life
May seem too heavy to bear
And times you often wonder
Is anyone willing to care?

Sometimes you feel you are all alone
As so many times you have cried,
As you wonder who is listening
Or even care if you died.

Let your mind go back to Calvary
To an old, old rugged cross,
When Jesus Christ, the Son of God
Died to save the lost.

What was going through His mind
When everyone turned away?
Did He feel deserted
As we do sometimes today?

Is the cross you carry worth it all
To earn a crown some day?
Just think about it for a while
You'll find that it will pay.
