Your Eyes

One brief moment looking deep into your eyes that day
Beginnning a long heart-wrenching rollercoaster
But you know I could have spent forever lost in that moment
Forever, sinking into the abyss of your soul

I wasted precious, precious time wond'ring what could be
Longing to share one soul-searching moment with you
Trying so hard not to go overboard that I went under
Only to resurface a little too late for us to ever exist

So I've heard that the eyes are the windows to the soul
But yours must have been covered by shutters and blinds
Nay, they weren't shut tightly cuz I saw the real you that day
Yet you chose to hide him and brought out the worst in you

Those dark brown eyes of yours
They just show what you're really full of
And what I'm tired of dealing with
Oh yes, it has hit the fan
But this time I won't let it hit me
