Love Bird

At first he acted like he wanted me
But I was reluctant, unsure of my feelings
But of course then he started ignoring me
Just when my heart had decided its dealings

He continued this for a while
As I continued to fall deeper for him
I though it would all be worthwhile
But he replaced me on a whim

The one with whom I was replaced
Was my absolute opposite
And now my fear had to be faced
I had given my heart and again, lost it

There were many awkward glances
We no longer spoke a word
And now all dreams of romances
Flew away with that Love Bird

Now that bird sits on her shoulder
And looks at me, whatever I do
And my heart could not feel colder
Especially when she talks about you

But that Love Bird taught me something
It seems like it took a lot of work
My heartache was actually a blessing
I now realize that you're a jerk
