I don't have any pictures of my final group to dance, Tap II as the Ringmasters (14 dancers total). The boy in this little group of pictures, however, is one of them (named Durante), and I had to put these side by side because I am just overwhelmed with the cuteness of the flirting between him and Laney (who was a magician).
For the Final Trick we hauled all 150 or so of us onto the stage, then I came out and we attempted to do our little finale dance altogether (just a few skips, a few claps, a bow, and a sitting final pose). At this point I think I am about to read the Thank Yous. (Note our impressive "birthday cake" set piece. At this point it is full grown, but it started out as just a table, and grew at strategic points throughout the show.)
This picture is my favorite, taken by cadet monitor Miss Vivian. Little Elephant Lindsay was about to have a break-down because she thought her mother forgot to put on her makeup. So I pulled out my stash in my purse and improvised, not really getting as much makeup on her face as I was "making it right."
This is Mattie, one of the Cotton Candies, and she is just too cute for words. She's the type you can just tell is going to grow up and be gorgeous and nice and self-assured.
Me backstage, pretending to be an ogre. Really, that's some of the worst posture ever. I spent the entire show RUNNING from place to place, and this is seconds before the finale began. I really like this dress, I wish I had bothered to take a decent photo.
