You have followed this dirt path for a long long while,
And trekked across many a mile.
Now after the distance you had to roam,
You finally feel that you could be home.
Come, who may, and rest your feet;
Let the Wolf fetch something to eat.
Come nightfall the peacefulness flees,
As Ancient ones bring us to our knees.
But fret not, my friend, or let trouble your soul,
Those Gods sure can party with that ol' rock and roll!
So grab a robe and kick off your shoes,
It's almost time for you to choose,
Whether you will go or you will stay,
And help us dance the night away.
Whate'er in your heart you see,
Goddess bless you, let you see,
Where ever in your path you rove,
You're ever welcome at the Grove.

About Wicca

Wicca is an Earth-based religion, holding a Goddess (and in some Traditions, a God) as the Creatoress. Wicca came to the attention of the rest of the world in 1954, when the book Witchcraft Today was published by a man named Gerald Gardner in England. Since that time, Wicca has grown immensely, and now is in many countries all around the world. Wicca is a religion based on Magickal prayer and will, and is very adaptable to many religions and many backgrounds. A number of Wiccans practice other things, such as Buddhism, Shamanism, the Native American Great Spirit religion, or others. As it is an Earth based religion, many tools used only for enhancing the spells (spells are much like prayers) are taken from the earth, such as herbs, incense, stones, and wood for wands. Many Wiccans believe in reincarnation; according to these Wiccan beliefs, when you die your soul/Aura becomes detached from your physical body. You will then rest in a purely spiritual form in a place commonly called Summerlands, although it might be known by many other names, until it is time for you to return to the world in another form. Rumors that Wiccans are devil worshippers and sacrifice animals and people to their gods and goddesses are not true; most Wiccans do not believe in an evil being known as Lucifer or Satan, and the sacrifices we make are of herbs and greens which often are eaten after or buried in the Earth, or we have feasts on different Sabbats (holy days) in celebration of harvest, Deity, or other things.

Magick

Magick is a very interesting and yet controversial topic. When most people think of Magick, they think of the "magic" that you see during a show, for example a magician's trick such as pulling a rabbit from a hat. The differences between "magic" and "Magick" (also spelled "Majick" or "Majik" depending on the person) vary greatly, but some are quite obvious.

Magic is well known as being a clever way of surprising and mystifying an audience using cleverly disguised parlor tricks, among other things. While some may appear to be real, often in more than one way, magic was created for mere entertainment purposes, and a clever person could find a way to exploit these tricks if they've a mind and will to do so.

Magick, on the other hand, is quite different in ways other than just the spelling of the word. There are many subcategories of Magick, such as Gem Magick, Candle Magick, Tantra, Rune Magick, Tarot, Dream Magick, Wish Magick, and many many others. Even Voodou is considered by most people to be a type of Magick, although there have been many arguments over this idea. There are both subtle and major differences between the sub categories, but the vast majority are used to accomplish the same basic purposes and principals.

For example, Gem Magick is a widely used practice concerning the properties and usages of gems and alchemy. Candle Magick concerns itself with the usage of candles and incense (although incense and essential oils are a separate part of Magick themselves, usually falling under the subcategory of Herb Magick, but mainly these are used in conjunction with other types of Magicks).

Not all Magicks require the usage of tools, however. Dream Magicks (which I have used myself, and can be very powerful depending on the use and intent) require no tools besides your own self. The tools that are used for the practice of Wicca and Magick are not required; they simply help to give us something to concentrate our energies toward as we cast our spells or weave our ceremonies or practice our rituals , whatever the case might be. The main tools that are needed for Magick to truly work is belief in what you are trying to do or accomplish, and the will power to see it through and make it work. If you have these things and your purpose is pure, then most likely the Deity/Deities will bless you and help you to achieve your utmost desires.
