Years
of Wisdom
To
my parents and grandparents who didnt think I was listening
A
wooden cane is not old age
In the book of life it's just a page
All that counts is whats inside
You have nothing to hide
A wealth of knowledge, like books on shelves
but too many people think of themselves
Its a shame to see many turn away
from the generations that forged our way
How will they feel when they turn gray?

A lifetime of pleasures has come my way
by taking the time to listen each day
Not many people are anxious to know
but from my elders I learn and grow
It's their wisdom that blinds my fears
to the day when I can share my years
And I hope someone hears
