The Sparrow

Deep in the thundering
forest, A little sparrow lives.
He fears a lot of larger things, For he has tiny wings.
He cannot fly to see the Earth, And all the pretty trees.
He fears he will not stay up, Where the air is free.
His tiny wings are very fragile, He must not flap to hard.
Because he fears they may fall off, If the wind shall do him harm.
So he stays down where the plants grow, As he touches soiled leaves
He fears he may not make it long, For there are many things,
The fear of not having food, Where and what will he eat?
The fear of taking nice long baths, But where in what stream?
Oh how will this baby survive with natures luxuries?
He will...for he's got love inside that causes his heart to sing.
So one day he decides to try to live so way up high.
He climbs up to the very top of a very tall pine.
He says "Oh Lord help me learn to trust you and your love"
"And please dear Lord...If I should fall please let me fall in your arms"
And so he jumped out of that pine the wind blew across his face
He feels a tender, Loving touch as he raises up his wings.
He lifts them up and lets them fall and lifts them up again
Then he sees the wondrous mountains with their peaks so snowy white
The trees so many types of green yet all swaying to the same beat.
Now he seems to understand the reason for these things.
God shows us all the way to love and learn
If we can just trust in his name.
